Great food and selection of drinks. Excellent service.

Enjoyed a birthday celebration for my mum. Lunch was lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful.

This is a just above average pub grub venue. They have pretentious of being something a little bit more special but can't quite make it. The food itself is OK although the 'earthy' flavours that they try and squeeze into every dish are clumsily executed and tend to unnecessarily dominate ( we tried duck, steak and gnocchi in our party... Lovely atmosphere with friendly, trained staff. Very helpful with my Gluten Free option and happy to go through the menu. Quality of food was very high and would recommend it to celebrate any event or anniversary. Plenty of parking and outside space. We will be returning soon. Thank you to Philip and his staff.

Wonderful country retreat. Great atmosphere this time of year with fires cracking away and amazing food and service. Highly recommend but book in advance as gets busy.

Really good food - good value and lovely service. Big plates of food and a good wine list too. Visited today and been before and the Hermits is consistently good. Recommend without hesitation if you want a good choice of well cooked fresh food in a rural pub setting

Thoroughly pleased with MY MUM's choice of restaurant. I saw one review saying to eat before you arrive. Admittedly the starters are high quality, but of a good starter size (pigeon, soup and scallops) - but the Ox 3 way was a challenge to finish based on size. The taste was fabulous. Venison and Halibut also hits. HIGHLY recommended. I... More

We ended up here today having been turned away from another as it was fully booked and what a find. The ambience is warm and inviting, the staff efficient without being obtrusive and the food a delight. We had the roast chicken dinner and it was delicious, hot, fresh and very filling. My husband had a desert out of curiosity... More

Yes good food, but if you blink you miss it. After all we are talking about a pub here. Why serve empty plates? The portions are ludicrously small. Get an extra plate of veg and you need to search for it around the table. Visited the place last month and yesterday my son went there and had the same complaints.... More
