We enjoyed a super dinner here after a day at the IWM close by. Lovely friendly staff and great olde world charm of a building. Great Decore, comfy seating . Beamed ceiling ..so quintessentially English. The food was great . We had version shank.. Yummy! good sized portions with fresh greens. Super sumptuous gravy !!

I live near the village of Duxford and was very pleased to find this local pub. The menu has the usual pub food and also more unique dishes. The food were very well done and tasty. Staff were friendly. Will certainly visit again.

First time visit to the pub on a December afternoon. Staff were reasonable and have a variety of local ales on tap. I had the venison pie which was very good. However the sticky toffee pudding was superb- one of the best I have had. The pub was busy with various party groups pre Christmas however staff were still providing... More

Friendly welcome and quickly seated. Good choice of food. Service a bit slow and difficult to attract waiter/waitress attention. Game pie and ground beef Berger excellent.

Glad I did... What a fantastic place. Old school and better for it.. Well worth a visit or a diversion if you have a chance.

Since moving to the village a little under a year ago, every meal whether lunch or dinner has always been just great! You definitely need to book as always busy and very popular. A great local with very attentive staff!! 👍👍

Found this place on TripAdvisor after booking the holiday inn down the road for a business trip. Was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service was excellent. Steaks were amazing, and the desserts were incredible. Would definitely recommend for a quiet, but quality meal.

This very attractive, smallish inn close to the Duxford museum was owned in the 1740s by distant forebears of mine, the list of previous landlords is displayed in the very atmospheric dining room. It is, like most pubs nowadays, really a restaurant although throughout our long lunch there were always a few drinkers at the bar. The style is olde... More

It's Half term and we are visiting the Imperial War Museum with family. We'd been at the same pub three years ago and remembered the slow service, but the grandchildren are older now and so we decided to make sure by booking ahead. A wise decision. The John Barleycorn is very pubby, lots of pictures, honey artefacts, old posters but... More
