Very very very great hospitality and wonderful group of people to be surrounded around. Definitely recommend.

We ended up at the Morrillo Beach Eco Resort by coincidence and stayed there for 2 nights. We had all meals in their restaurant. They decide on the fixed menu for the day in the morning, taking into account if you don't like certain things...or have allergies or are vegetarian or... We didn't feel the need to go out for lunch or dinner because we really liked the food they prepared for us.More
Dearest Silke and Jay, We know your travels did not go as planned this time to Panama but selfishly, we are thankful those roads led you to us for your stay in this magical place. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed our food...More

Since returning from our adventure at the Morrillo Beach Eco Resort eleven days ago, I'll find myself frequently daydreaming about Morrillo Beach's made from scratch culinary offerings. When it comes to food, our family of five has been lucky enough to enjoy a robust culinary...scene in our hometown, and one thing we have come to appreciate is that great food, delicious food, begins with fresh, seasonally appropriate, locally sourced ingredients that are prepared with love and respect. Morrillo Beach elevates the practice of highlighting fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to a level of achievement that all resorts should aspire. Whether it is the jaw dropping locally made honey-molasses drizzled on morning pancakes, or lunchtime carnitas featuring Panamanian sourced pork, each bite of food explodes with flavor and freshness that will have first-time guests return for a sophomore visit, just for the food alone. More of an evening meal person? Then look forward to a Tuscan style lasagna where the star of the dish is Cari's fresh made pasta. The secret to her outstanding pasta? Fresh eggs from the Morrillo Beach's very own chickens. As many diners can appreciate, best-in-class service can make or break any dining experience, regardless of how wonderful the culinary offerings may be. Rest assured, diners will be delighted with a warm and guest-forward philosophy at the Morrillo Beach Eco Resort. The hospitality team at Morrillo Beach will have any dining aficionado craving a near equal experience upon returning home from a trip to Morrillo Beach. Looking fo ambiance and atmosphere? Morrillo Beach overdelivers a thousand-fold. Even the best photos fall short of depicting the magic that guests will experience. Whether it may be enjoying a cup of morning coffee overlooking the estuary and oceanfront while planning the day's surf adventure, or winding down over a post-excursion 3 o'clock snack of scratch nachos complimented with a refreshing local cerveza or Argentinian Malbec, you'll be left smiling for months thereafter. Our family can't wait for our return trip back to Morrillo Beach - simply for the food alone! Well done Morrillo Beach Eco Resort! Your heart and soul shine through and deliver a best-in-class experience, each and every day. Anyone reading this review and considering an experiential vacation full of adventure, put a trip to the Morrillo Beach Eco Resort at the very top of your list. The food alone is worth theMore
Oh Dave, where do I even start? My vocabulary is nowhere near as deep as my love of cooking and I wouldn't be able to do the language justice in response to such an eloquently, passionately, and lovingly written review as you have just done...More
This is the place to go if you want thoughtfully prepared, organic, local fresh food infused with love. The ceviche and nachos are my favorite snack. I cannot get enough of the red coconut curry and I want more of that salted caramel on all...of my desserts. Well done Cari, I’ll be back soon!More
You forgot your caramel sauce! Thank you so much for taking the time again to write such a thoughtful review about your stay with us. We always enjoy hosting your adventurous family here as you are kind, fun to be with, and always so appreciative...More
My biggest fear is that this place will gets discovered!!! It was absolutely what I consider perfect paradise. Unspoiled Tropical Nature with wonderful amenities. In my mind Paradise is temporary… so get it well you can!! What Cari and Ryan (the owner’s) have built from...scratch is an oasis in the real jungle of Panama which sits on perfect beach for surfing activities and short walk to a moderate to advance surf spot.(like 15 minute walk across the beach). The surf is consistently good. You will be able to surf somewhere within a 20 minute walk at anytime of the day. I happened to hit it one day with an amazing swell: 5-7 feet & good conditions and 1 other person out. The next day it was super crowded because there was 5 people out…. Lol! The owners and staff are super friendly and treat you like family- seriously! They are amazing!! The food is incredible because they make everything from scratch, farm to table, locally sourced with a Mexican theme. Every meal was delicious! The service can not be beat! The rooms are sooo cool! The design of everything on the property is perfect! However, one has to remember, 1 thing: you are in the middle of no where: the prices are incredible but the power will go off from time to time, don’t expect wifi all the time, (if you want phone/wifi, use Claro but even that goes down) there is no hot water sometime. There could a bug in your room.(but rooms are extremely clean- and remember you are in the jungle!!!) However, if you looking for adventure, amazing surf, amazing other adventures they offer, amazing food and just want to unwind and get away from it all, this is the place for you! Did I mention the monkey’s- yes!! This is like Costa Rica before it got discovered! Recommendations: 4x4 or AWD car is mandatory. Sun protection and rain gear is mandatory as it is the wet season. Yes, the wet season actually rocks too!! Also, they do have a shuttle service that will pick you up from the airport. If you are driving, don’t drive in the rush hours. Panama City is a big thriving city with much traffic. And above all, you must drive the last part( Especially from Santiago) to eco resort in daylight. I recommend only driving in the day in Panama period. Panama is not nearly as dangerous as most of the USA but take common precautions. Lock your doors.. ect. Why more people don’t live there is behind me. It reminds of California but Tropical and rural.More

We stayed at the resort for a week, and the food was one of the best parts of the stay. We kept saying to each other how “clean” the food was - every meal was hand-prepped, locally sourced (eg, one day they gathered coconuts on...the beach to use in a coconut curry THAT NIGHT :mind_blown:), often personalized to our tastes (without us asking or saying anything! the smoked pork and lentils on rice - wowzers!), and felt great to eat. Everyone at the resort and in the restaurant were super helpful, friendly, and fun. Can’t wait to get back! Thanks Cari, Ryan, and team!More

Cari and Ryan have dedicated their lives to creating a place to live for themselves and their guests full of mindfulness. Not only do we benefit, but the land, the water and the beings that reside in the vicinity get to benefit as well. With...this in mind their restaurant offers sustenance that not only carries the rich flavors of Panamanian culture, land and sea, but the love injected into it all that Cari's culinary skills carry. A great experience, on all fronts...the fresh, all organically produced food, the most enjoyable hosts, and the professional and kindly staff combine to completely great effect for your evening's pleasue. Highly recommended.More

Cari and her team take the term farm to table to a whole new level as the majority of food is grown right on the property and all is made from scratch. The result is a delicious menu that is so fresh, healthy and made...with love. The menu changes daily based on what ingredients are the most fresh. Eating meals in the open air palapa style restaurant was a treat. The menu was diverse and always hit the spot. They easily accommodated vegetarian requests.More

The Morrillo Beach Eco Resort Restaurant locally sources its foods and considers how the food is grown. We stayed and ate at the resort for three days and enjoyed every bit! Fresh fruit and eggs in the morning, wonderful lunch with fresh bread, and dinner...and dessert in the evening. If you have any dietary preferences, make sure to give them at least a week's notice. Because everything is local and dependent on availability it takes some planning. And if you are someone that is particular about your menu, I'd get in touch with Cari to make sure she knows. Communication is KEY! Otherwise, its a fantastic place to stay and dine!More
