This place is such a gem. Lovely. All of it. I wanted to stay all day to walk the river, drink coffee and eat apple pie. I had a typical Casado, which was delicious. But the APPLE PIE. You have to make the trip to...San Gerado JUST for this pie. I’m not kidding. Cant wait to visit again!More

Preferably, try to make a reservation. The food is casual, healthy and delicious. I recommend trying the Torrentina de Chocolate for dessert. The specialty here is trout. The space is open so bring a sweater. You eat by the river. Really beautiful place. If it´s...a sunny day, there is a nice sun terrace.More

Must visit restaurant in San Gerardo. Kahawa has a privileged location next to the Savegre River. Food was yummy. We had a trout dip which was great for sharing. Sopa negra was fabulous. It comes deconstructed and the waiter pours the bean soup and you...add all the garnishes. In Dota trout is the #1 option. So a lot of the dishes have trout. But the menu has a lot of options to cater to every taste. Loved the decor and details throughout. Covid protocols are strongly enforced. Tables are distanced, there is a washing station before you go in and staff wears a mask. There is a small souvenir shop with art from local artists. Tip: reserve the table on the deck by the River (weather permitting). Weekends get packed so make sure you reserve.More

We arrived at 4pm, not the typical time to have a late lunch or early dinner, but we got a delicious trout and vegetables. We couldn't resist the sweets and you definitely should try the apple pie! The waitress was very attentive and friendly. An...overall great experience and we will come back for sure.More

Dined here last Saturday for a late lunch/early dinner (they closed at 5 pm) and really enjoyed the drinks and appetizers we took to-go. The drinks - a mojito for me - was delicious and possibly the most refreshing mojito I have ver tasted with...the fresh mint and chopped pineapple. The Trout dip was delicious even later that night back at our hotel. The restaurant is very clean with cover measures taken like a hand washing station upon entering, spacious outdoor seating. and electronic menus. We were disappointed when we didn't have reservations to return Sunday as they were completely full.More

They take the required pandemic related precautions for diners. The food was reasonably priced and the portions are large. The apple pie is a must-try!More
