We had our dinner 3 times during our stay in Platanes in Bella Casita Taverna. Usually we like to check out different places but here we found exactly want we were looking for:
Authentic local cuisine at a very reasonable price. The friendly owner Steve obviously has a great passion for making your meal an outstanding experience.
The location is perfect on a small road away from the noisy main road.
We highly recommend it!

The food was a true culinary pleasure. From the fresh seafood to the delicious meat dishes, every dish was prepared with great care and attention to detail. The flavors were authentic, and the ingredients seemed to be right from the market that day. Everything tasted completely fresh! We had to go here several times during our stay as the food was too good to let go!
The service was also outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. They did their utmost to ensure we had everything we needed and felt welcome all the time. Premium high quality fantastic dinner prepared with local ingredients & lots of love & knowledge about allergies. Gluten-free option was no problem whatsoever. The fresh fish was divine just like the accompaniments & a mousseline sauce to die for! If you want something extra, this is where you should go! This is without a doubt the best restaurant I have ever eaten in Greece. And maybe even in the world. Here it did not last with just one visit, we had to explore several of the dishes. There is quality in all ingredients and you can really taste that the food is fresh. It looks like a piece of art on the plate and it's impossible not to eat up. The staff are unique in how they act, they are professional, friendly and easy to talk with. Simply a must if you are staying in Crete.

I had dinner last night in this restaurant with my 4 1/2 year old son.
We waited 1h30 for a salad and a fish fillet. Only 3 tables were occupied in the restaurant. The terrace is covered and overlooks a fairly narrow street. It is therefore very hot despite the fans.

Visited this restaurant because it was opposite where we were staying and we didn't want to walk too far that night. So glad that we did.
Lovely atmosphere ,very welcoming and friendly staff. We had the pork chops (not the huge tomahawk which was available). They came with a side of fresh local vegetables and greek potatoes. The chops were succulent and cooked to perfection. I liked the small menu too because sometimes you can have too much choice. My mai tai was just the perfect companion. Definitely recommend Bella Casita ❤️

Really wonderful food! Everyone in the party got top-notch dishes. Beautifully laid out and prepared with fantastic ingredients. I ate a wonderful and rich Prawn paste with a pleasant peppery sting. (The fish the others ate was actually even better!)

Great restaurant where the whole family was more than satisfied with both food and service. The restaurant is located on a quiet and beautiful side street that does not share the main street’s “tourist feel”.
