Stumbled across this place very late one night after landing in the area. Really lovely and friendly staff who recommended all types of delicious local dishes for us to eat. Great wine, good seafood and the best taramasalata I’ve EVER had!
Visited twice whilst staying in the town. To be honest our first visit was better than the second. The lady running the establishment is lovely but does seem to be doing most of the jobs. As it was busier on our second visit, things were...slightly chaotic. The food was good though with lovely fresh fish and well priced steakMore
If you are in the this area, then try not to miss this gem! This is the 3rd time we have been there & it never fails to deliver. The kitchen is adjacent to the bar area and on show - the chef (owner) is...equally happy to be watched but not in the way - seafood is the speciality. I note that people on here says it’s expensive, €15 for a whole grilled sea bass with all the trimmings is a bargain! Be careful if it’s Oct & mozzie season my wife was badly bitten....More
My wife and I had two meals here whilst staying locally at Ionian Eye.
It came highly recommended and we were very happy. The food was outstanding, service friendly and caring. A family restaurant with a great sea view.
We will be back
My husband and I visited this restaurant for a drink whilst we were out for a walk one evening. Ended going back there to eat three times! Restaurant was run by a lovely couple who were very passionate about the food they served. King Prawns...were amazing and nothing was too much trouble! Would definitely go back again. The cats were gorgeous too!More
Stumbled across this place and what a find
Lovely couple been there for years apparently 30+
Right on the beach food is fantastic and so cheap for the quality.
We loved this place so much went back 4 times in a week’s stay 😘
This is a lovely traditional blue & white check table cloth Greek taverna at the far end of Messongji bay - but well worth the walk. We started with some excellent home grown artichokes, dolmades & saganaki; and finished with huge line court sea bream...and white mullet which were amazing. Apparently Delia Smith has been seen eating here; I’m not surprised as this is wonderful Greek produce cooked to perfection.More
We had an amazing dinner on the seafront at the Bacchus restaurant. Restaurant is family red and the mother was a delight- helpful in recommending dishes and noting what was the catch of the day. Also fantastic homemade desserts too, with a play on a...trifle with cinnamon coated stewed apple. Complimentary digestivos at the end of the meal. Beautiful setting.More

Hi Annie, As Sheila says, mixed group, we are 41 and 50 and adore Messonghi. It's laid back enough to relax but enough to do if you like picturesque views and eating and socializing! We both smoke and had no problems at all. Enjoy. As a frequent traveller to Corfu I am quite jealous! ;-)
