The gentleman was lovely, very friendly and from the UK, we was told everything is made fresh to order so we would have a little bit of waiting time which of course we didn’t mind, however I had the chicken in red wine sauce the...More
Nice view from restaurant .
Took forever for food to arrive , waiter brought wrong food but as it had taken so long we couldn’t risk sending it back .

Another restaurant we really enjoyed in Roda so visited a couple of times. The family who run it are really welcoming and friendly. The food is of good quality and the home made chips are the best ever, just like my mum used to make....More
Looking out to the sea is a lovely setting.
Staff were welcoming and helpful. We (4)of us had mousaka , lemon chicken. Came with salad and chips or rice. Plenty to eat.
Really enjoyed our meals. Glass of wine. Perfect. Would recommend this place
Went here and the waiter forgot our starters ( 4 People ) however he blamed the chef as she was new and gave us some free chips, food was great though. Second time we went the food was awful very chewy and not slow cooked...More

Of 6 places we ate during our week in Roda this was the worst by far. The food itself was acceptable but poorly presented; the service and attitude of the obviously overworked staff was abysmal. Delivering only part of the order or having to be...More

It is still run by Nicky and her brother. I believe Nicky does most of the cooking and can often been spotted drinking coffee and peeling vegetables at the table outside in the daytime in preparation for the evening's cooking. Marcus and his wife are niece and nephew (Marcus is from the West Midlands). We have been holidaying in Roda for the last 10 years and always look forward to a few visits to the Dolphin. The food is delicious the service is friendly, the prices are fair and of course to eat at a table overlooking the sea is a wonderful experience. At times Nicky has loaned books to me, we have been given free drinks and even a bottle of wine to take back with us. As for the comments below about fighting and being attacked by the owners, or even being ripped off, I really cannot understand. Were these people on something, or do they have the right place?. I have never known anything like this, just wonderful hospitality. They do still have apartments at the back of the restaurant, which is where I borrowed the books from...You can phone or e-mail but Could wait a while for a reply!

I do have problems in answering this question from bigtdevon as he/she does not seem to have a very good grasp of the English language. However, I will attempt to answer the question as I have many wonderful experiences of dining at The Dolphin in Roda. We have never been attacked or witnessed any attacks. Nicky is not crazy, we have always found her to be a very pleasant and kind woman. I don't understand the reference to a mail order catalogue (Janet Frazer) and wonder if bigtdevon is creating a work of fiction. "He", I am not sure to whom this refers but certainly we have never been short-changed, have always found the prices to be fair and have often been offered complimentary drinks. We did hear of an incident one year when a drunken customer started an argument.
