we had a dreadful meal on Sunday evening, the whole roast dinner came from a freezer I think and was very poor. Yet our friends who ate on a different night that is not roast night had a completely different experience, like it was a different place, or maybe the real chef takes Sunday nights off! sadly as this was... We have visited the Twice Brewed Inn on several occasions in the past, but were completely surprised at its new look. A great deal of change has taken place with its refurbishment ,not at least it's new menu. A fantastic choice what ever your taste. You get a very friendly welcome and superb service just what you need after along... More

This has always been a good stopping place for walkers, diggers, cyclists and other tourists to Hadrian's wall, but the newly refurbished pub is excellent. There is more space, you can eat in the pub or restaurant, there are rooms, a huge car park and very attentive staff. We had two meals here, both excellent. I especially recommend the chicken... First impression was a good one. Bar and reception area was lovely (see photo) and inviting and had plug sockets to recharge my phone after our long walk. Beats leaving the phone in the room to charge and as stated in the heading, the wifi in our room was terrible so couldn't relax in my room and check what I... More

We could say we were lucky ,the weather was kind and the route was easy to follow. As we are both pensioners we decided to go and see a tree ?yes a tree not any ordinary tree but the tree that is predominately in Robin Hood starring Kevin Cosner. After the initial thought what are we doing, it became a pleasure then... We have stared to call her for lunch as we travel from the North West to North East on holiday. At lunch time it isn't too busy and has an extensive hotel menu as well as a lovely pub garden. It is dog friendly and Chelsea behind the bar was most attentive in serving us. Well worth a stop for... More

Ate here at this very convenient location for walkers of Hadrian Wall on Saturday 16th July with my son for an evening meal. This place is very popular having little competition so arrive early to find a table. The food is meant to be of high quality and is priced ~£11-£14 for a main course. One of us is allergic... More

The hotel is well placed for the Hadrian's Wall Walk and is the only place for miles. We checked in a bit early and they did give us rooms. Our room faced the beer garden so I asked to change due to potential noise. They were full so could not change me. It was noisy as the weather was good... More

We visit the Twice Brewed regularly ever since we moved to the area and knew the previous owners, particularly Brian quite well. He appointed a Manager who really understood Customer Service. Everyone was always greeted on entering and thanked for their custom on leaving and all of the staff bought into this ethos and made it extremely popular with locals... More

After a hard and arduous day high up on Hadrian's Wall it was wonderful to get sight of The Twice Brewed Inn far below, arriving late afternoon to an already busy hostelry to enjoy our big pot of tea/real ale. Cheers guys, we were really glad to find you! Returning that evening I had a truly excellent 10oz gammon steak... More
