About
The Twice Brewed is set amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery in England and stands in the shadows of Steel Rigg, without doubt one of the most dramatic parts of Hadrian’s Wall. The Inn is situated on the B6318 (The Military Road) midway between Newcastle Upon Tyne in the East and Carlisle in the West and is close to all the main Roman sites – Vindolanda, Housesteads and The Roman Army Museum. The Inn is on the popular Pennine Way route and welcomes walkers with a drying room and other facilities. We are also on the Hadrians Cycleway (Route 72) and near the Sandstone Way cycle route. We are 4 miles away from Haltwhistle train station and 15 miles away from Hexham train station

Room 1 was spacious with twin beds that were more than four inches apart (most places twin beds are more like doubles they are so close!) and also bunk beds - so a good family room if required. Bathroom was clean. Dinner and breakfast were...More

On our walking weekend we called in. Staff and other customers made us feel welcome. Beers / Ales are brewed on site, and offered a great range to suit all tastes. Oh course we had a sample a fair few of the local liquid product!...More

Popped in for a pint on the Hadrian's Wall walk . Not that far from the trail and well worth the deviation. Nice to be able to get a good pint from the micro brewery next door.

I've been to the Twice Brewed a few times and have always rated it highly. Today however I was sorely disappointed. The menus were earmarked and grubby. There was no sparkling water. The one fish course on the main menu had run out (at 12,30pm)....More

Was not sure how best to rate this. The Beer: Having it's own brewery means the selection of beers is great and some of them are pretty good. The pricing is not bad either! The Surroundings: I had expected the pub to be quite old...More

Dear Draz_darksilver, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, sorry you felt it couldn't be more glowing! The pub once was "old worldly" - with dark wood and sticky carpets, vinyl wallpaper and cigarette smoke stained ceilings - so we felt it...More

We chose this restaurant because of a Rick Steves' review noting it had vegetarian options. We arrived on a Sunday evening at 6:30 pm. On the daily board was a sea bass special. We were advised they didn't have daily specials on Sunday. I ordered...More
