Exceptional dinner twice now, first with my wife, and then with larger group of friends. Wonderful to see this new restaurant take wings and delighted that it aims to address the local market while making us “blow-ins” feel very welcome. It’s simply lovely on all levels, ambiance, food, staff. A new “go-to” for our family after 20 years in megeve. We are delighted.

The best restaurant in Praz

I've been visiting Praz-sur-Arly each year for 13 years and eaten many times in all the restaurants in the village and surrounding. This new restaurant is the best we have experienced. The welcome from Julie and Emilie was very friendly and the service very attentive throughout the meal. Our group tried many items from the menu and the (daily changing) specials and all were excellent. The escargot starter was very good - not the usual dish drowned in garlic, but very tasty with spinach. The beef was really superb, as was the lamb shank. The special of sole (for 2) was boned at the table and was wonderful. However, the crowning glory was the Grand Marnier Soufle. Outstanding! We went back twice in our 5 night stay! We tried different white and red wines from their carte and all were very good. Praz needs a restaurant like this and it deserves to be very sucessful. We'll certainly be booking at least 2 nights for next year's trip!

This little restaurant located in Praz-sur-Arly, a small ski resort just a few minutes away from the famous Megève is really worth a visit. The place is quite small but if you pick a sunny day , the terrace is huge. We had several lunches there and were always happy. The food is modern, tasty, and everything is homemade. A special mention for the « soufflé »! Best to make a reservation as this place will become a must in the area.

Front of house way off point

2hours for a starter of soup and a sandwich and main courses of t-bone steaks. Really poor service all round. Left without spoons for hot oven dishes of the Ratatouille and dauphinois. Waited another 5mins to get those. T-bones were both overcooked but to be honest I would be unsure if they were just left resting for too long and the bone being hot overcooked them, again may be due to the speed of service. Tried to order desert left waiting 20minutes. Eventually just decided to get the bill. Did not receive it so stood and waited at the counter to pay. Ridiculous for the price which is very upsetting considering how tasty the food was when it eventually came. It could be good if they sorted out the service but would not go back.

No complaints with the food. We've eaten here a few times now as we spend a lot of time in Praz Sur Arly. It is good to see a restaurant that is not only serving Sayorade dishes. We like the menu choices. My only food criticism is that there are no vegetables with the main courses and they are not available as a side order. This makes for an unbalanced meal. Meat, potatoes, cream, cheese all at once is too much. But I'm afraid that the service is terrible. Long waits for menu, order and over 30 mins for the bill (even after asking twice). I hope things improve. Less covers or more staff perhaps.

Les Ronins Praz sur Arly.

You will see that I've given this restaurant bad reviews before. We've eaten here again twice this month as we love the menu and the food. BUT the service is still terrible. They need more staff! Be prepared for long waits and inattentive staff. A simple 2 course meal took nearly 3 hours from sitting to finally paying the bill. Very frustrating! Please do better!!!!

Excellent cuisine with a twist.

Excellent cuisine with lovely French classics with a twist. Turbot, sole, rack of lamb with some fusion cooking like tataki of beef and ‘le tigre qui pleure ‘. Antoni, the cook, does an amazing job. Save room for dessert as he is the master at this. Our absolute favorites are the ‘trompe l’oeil’ or optical illusions of fruit which are reconstructed as a dessert. Emilie, as front of house, runs a tight ship and her new head waitress Mathilde is a true professional. There is a good wine card at reasonable prices. We have been coming to Les Ronins since they opened nearly two years ago and it’s one of our all time favorite restaurants.

Fantastic food, reasonable prices for the very high standards served, fast service and with a smile, what else could you ask for? DEFINITELY a welcome alternative compared to the average overpriced and underwhelming offer of Megeve restaurants. Well worth the drive to Praz, we’ll come back for sure!

Fine cuisine without the bling

A not-so-hidden local gem… it’s number 1 in Praz for very good reasons. Book early & often… you won’t be disappointed. We were eight. One of our group was a vegetarian & really enjoyed his evening. Great selection of wines. In short fine cuisine & good service without the bling. Worth the detour if you are in the area.
