We ran into this place quite by accident. We walked by it on the way to the train and it smelled soooo good, I had to stop. We grabbed a Melon Pan and an apple tart item. Seriously, this was one of the best things...More

We expect to get a warm soft sweet bread roll, but what we get was a bun which is hard, cold and tasteless. Perhaps we go for wrong shop, the shop beside which selling the same bread was much more better and cheaper.

Came here for breakfast as Asakusa is not really a very accessible place for brekkie eats. It’s a once in a blue moon brekkie, but omg yes! Of course you can eat them anytime of the day. I love melon pan so if your a...More

It’s hard to imagine a warm soft sweet bread roll, coated in sugar, filled with ice cream wouldn’t taste nice, you’d be right, it was lovely. A very nice treat after strolling around the temple...

Delicious fresh, giant sized pastries and sweet breads ! Long lines, but worth the wait. Must try when you are around the Senjoji temple area.

We have passed this store multiple times and they were always sold out. They have more than one locations. They have limited amounts everyday, so be sure to go early. You are unlikely to get one in the afternoon (that happened to us multiple times)....More

Given that Tokyo is a food haven and there are many other great bakeries, I feel this was overrated. Not that it isn't good, but it was only average to me. There is also a poster outside with many celebrities' endorsements. However I do like...More

We had read about this traditional sweet shop before our visit to Tokyo. It is well-known for jumbo-sized Melon Pans, a melon-shaped (but not melon-flavored) sweet bun. Apparently, Kagetsudo has 3-4 outlets in Tokyo. The one we went to is the one which is just...More

The melon bread is the famous one here. Its crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Its not overly sweet too. There's a second kagetsudo right beside Nakamise Dori which you can go in and have a seat for this snack. This honten...More

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
