Pizzas, sandwiches, coffee, spirits. You find a wide variety of drinks and food in this place, besides wifi and tablets for clients' use. Recommended for a food pit stop.

Located on the unterground floor of the Atre Restaurant complexes not easy to find but worth the efforts. International food (Latin American, Italian) given an appealing Japanese interpretation. Nice place to sit in to take a rest between trains or just getting ones mind settled. Charming and attentive Service.

The cafe looks the part, but we waited 20 minutes for two espressos, and there were only two other customers there. And when it came it wasn't great. So if you have a train to catch, don't expect a quick coffee here! There's an Italian branded place inside the ticket barriers that does faster coffee that isn't any worse. The... More

We went there twice, both times we had delicious crepes. The place is a stylish small cafe, with barely some space to sit, but the crepes made in front of you are delicious. I wonder how they cope with a crowd, since when we went there even though we where only 4 the service was a bit slow.

Though a little worn at the edges, this place is one of only a few cafes I know inside the station building, outside of the ticket wickets. It's a bit tricky to find - it's underground, part way between the subways and the ground floor main entrance to JR. There is a Kaldi's store next door and a bakery across... More

In the lower level of the JR Ueno station is a little cafe where you can have breakfast and catch up with your e-mail. Or, you can watch the spectacle of the people rushing through the train station while you enjoy your coffee. There were four choices on the breakfast set menu this morning. I had the egg meal. In... On our way back from Sensoji temple in Akasuka, we stopped at Ueno to see the famous city park. After getting off the subway train at Ueno Station, walking along the modern underground corridor, we saw Wired Café. We perused the plastic foods on display (most restaurants in Tokyo have these displays in the front - which is super convenient... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
