Sometimes luck just comes to visit . A 12 seater Italian fusion restaurant . This place has only the chef. An incredible chef! One of my great dining experiences - anywhere in the world. Visually exciting plates balanced with ( for example) a truffle mix on a spoon or my favourite a Parmesan cheese, Belgian potato mash. Matching wines and... More

One counter, one chef/waiter/sommelier, one menu, 10 seats more less. Might not sound too sexy? But it definitely is. Fine ingredients, nice combinations, Italian and Italian, Japanese French fusion. Owner is very friendly and most drinks are included in the menu.

I have been here many times over the years and always thoroughly enjoy it. There is no menu but a very reasonable one time price that covers everything and offers several very tasty courses each with its own wine, and a main course with four selections. Aside from the food being awesome the ambience is eclectic, with Mr. Maeda taking... More

We recently spent 3 weeks in Japan and dinner in this place was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It's a small place seating about 10 at a bar and one is greeted upon entering by the chef with a glass of champagne. There's no menu just a fixed price adventure for the next few hours. He serves... Absolutely fantastic - favourite Tokyo restaurant experience after 5 years living in Tokyo. Maeda-san is a great host, chef and sommelier pairing every course with great wines.

Amoroso is quite simply amazing, the chef, a former sommelier presents two menu choices that are exquisite. He pairs the wines with the courses and it is quite an epicurean delight. It is fixed price all inclusive and you are limited to his daily fresh offerings but his deft touch, sense of humor and wine pairings are perfect.

Both food and chef were amazing. I have no idea how he does it all by himself from cooking to cleaning to entertaining and taking reservations. Excellent job of pairing the wines with each course. Best Italian I have had and surprisingly came in Tokyo!

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
