A cozy, intimate place with funky decor, you sit at a bar facing the kitchen so you can see the whole process. You get a choice of mains and the rest is fixed, as it the wine pairing. Fantastic food, a fun chef/host, and a terrific price. I recommend making your reservation for right at 630pm when it opens, as... More

As previous reviews say it is a one man show with a very charismatic chef / owner . I lost count of the number of dishes but it is very good rustic and tasty food. Wine pairing excellent as chef is also ex sommelier Highly recommended and will return. Lastly and less important, excellent value.

Chef Maeda continues to impress. From the very start of the meal to the end is an adventure in gastronomy. The chef takes the time to explain each and every dish and amuse-gueule in detail. The wines and digestifs are perfectly paired with the food. It's a real treat to visit Amoroso.

I have now been coming to Amoroso 1 or 2 times per year while visiting Tokyo and i am still to be dissapointed. Chef Maeda continues to serve a fantastic 6-7 course menu with the wines that he carefuylly pairs. . . (he is a sommelier by trade). its a cozy restaurant seating only 12 people so better reserve your... More

Amoroso is a 12 seat fine dining restaurant in which you sit comfortably at a bar and watch the owner / chef / waiter / kitchen hand / sommelier (yes he does it all) prepare and serve the most amazing food I have eaten anywhere in the world. The servings are not large, in fact some a just a tasting... More

This was my 6th visit to Amoroso in 12 months and it never fails to amaze me. Spectacular meal again with a few changes to the menu to keep it exciting but my favorite courses still there or willingly served to me even if they weren't being served that night. You get to choose your main dish from 4 on... More

Sometimes luck just comes to visit . A 12 seater Italian fusion restaurant . This place has only the chef. An incredible chef! One of my great dining experiences - anywhere in the world. Visually exciting plates balanced with ( for example) a truffle mix on a spoon or my favourite a Parmesan cheese, Belgian potato mash. Matching wines and... More

One counter, one chef/waiter/sommelier, one menu, 10 seats more less. Might not sound too sexy? But it definitely is. Fine ingredients, nice combinations, Italian and Italian, Japanese French fusion. Owner is very friendly and most drinks are included in the menu.

I have been here many times over the years and always thoroughly enjoy it. There is no menu but a very reasonable one time price that covers everything and offers several very tasty courses each with its own wine, and a main course with four selections. Aside from the food being awesome the ambience is eclectic, with Mr. Maeda taking... More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
