Pretty Good Curry

This is a big chain but the food is pretty good and consistent and well priced. Not a place to sit a schmooze, but a place to eat and go. Around 880yen.

After our last visit to a Coco curry house 4 years ago we came back to savour "Japanese-styled" curry once more. There were more flavours, additions, side dishes, toppings. Although the Indians and British invented curry (kari), the Japanese innovated it to a level of perfection with multiple varieties. Curry would be boring with just pure spiceness. Coco is a... More

I didn't expect much going into this place, the food doesn't look overly appealing but it was close to our hotel and we felt like something with a bit of meat. Wow, was I wrong, it was possibly the tastiest meal that I had in Tokyo. We ordered the pork curry, with handmade pork katsu with some vegetables and rice... More

Strong flavor of curry. Goes well with chicken cutlet, pork chop etc. the taste is so rich but not very spicy. Suitable for young and old.

Cheap Japanese Curry that's really good! We were able see this particular branch when we were going out of Shinjuku Station; however, we were able to eat at the much smaller branch located in Omoide Yokocho. :) We had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated. There were a lot of choices and they all looked wonderful! I have... More

We found this after a google search recommended. The food is so tasty and very cheap, we actually went twice in our short visit to Japan! I got the smaller portion of rice as I really didn't need a full portion, so it was even cheaper but still filled me for ages. Beer and other drinks available again at very... More

Went there for dinner and loved it. We could customise our rice portion, the sauce and also what toppings we would like. We had heaps of fun working out our very own curry rice. Salad was yummy too. The service we got was really good as the gal spoke very good English.

i’m not a big fan of coco curry in china, but in japan there are some menu that are different from coco curry china, such as the shrimp cutlet served with tartar sauce, i find them very delicious.

Having supper in a here three times when i visited Tokyo last week. This is my new favorite food. Hot and spicy curry crispy skin with moist chicken meat, love it.! I come from a tropical country, so the Tokyo autumn temperature at night freezes me, but it all go away after having curry here. I'm gonna miss this place... More

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
