We were sort of excited to try out the place, which looks fancy. Well, fanciness is included in the price. Nearly 2000 Yen for a burger, you have to make it extra good. Which was not the case. I took the burger the owner recommended, "beer burger" (sauce has beer in it apprently). Meat is average and rather dry, the... More

This burger shop was located in Kagurazaka area. The store wasn't NY style, just simple furnishings. Food menu offered basic hamburgers. Pickles, potato and gratin were served as side dishes for burgers. Price range was really expensive impression in the 1600 to 2200 yen for hamburgers. First impression of my burger was so small!! and it wasn't worth for 1700... More

Visited here for a change of pace from gorgeous Japanese cuisine. Great concept with beautiful martinis. We had the ribs as a starter which were juicy, tasty and pulled away from the bone like they should. We all had different burgers and my 2 companions were agreeable from their silence and odd moan of delight. If your looking for a... More

Just stopped in after visiting exhibit at the Esei-Bunko Museum. Great curated burger joint and homemade cheesecake to boot.

Delicious American food in an underserved area of Tokyo. Had the chili burger, creamed spinach, roast potatoes. The burger was top notch, not overdone, tasted superb. The creamed spinach surpassed a few steakhouses I've been in. Overall delicious food. Ambience is sort of a minimalist Manhattan club/bar. I will be back.

Even though self-professed virtues in restaurant advertisments are widely accepted as tongue-in-cheek, it is refreshing to see that Martini Burger is right-on with their claims. Yes, it is definitely better tasting than most other burger joints. And at 1600 yen per person (we decided to pass on beverages), a meal at Martini Burger is indeed less expensive than going to... Found this place online, the website said it served the best burgers in Tokyo, but I guess that it's going to be biased. Even though it is about a 15 minute cab/ bus journey from central Shinjuku, we made the journey because the burgers looked really good. I had the Skyscraper burger, which was good. However, and it may just... More

Martini Burger is a great treat for anyone wanting a great burger whilst in Tokyo. The beef is fresh and never frozen! The sides are fresh as well and they have martinis as well as beer available. The interior is rather small, but never had an issue with getting a table. Each time I've been there, the owner (a New... More

The burgers are delicious - one of the best I've tasted. Gourmet. The Skyscraper burger is a must try. The experience is a bit like stepping into NY for a while. I'm from the US so I enjoyed it. They even played the Blues Brothers on video. The wife of the owner if a very hard worker and makes the... More

I visited Martini Burger last week around at 8PM. I seemed first customers at that moment, looking around the space. I ordered the Burger, called Fifth Avenue, with potatoes as sides. I was amazed by such a gorgeous, lovely and curious Burger. I really liked this place, atmosphere, variety of food and Martini Burger!

Description
This casual, neighborhood spot is owned by an ex-New Yorker who wanted to introduce real American-style gourmet burgers, upscale comfort food and great cocktails to his Tokyo neighbors. The dining room is simple but stylish - and bright and cheerful at lunchtime - with a six-stool bar area in back and a good selection of blues and R&B on the speakers.

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
