Serves great teppanyaki meal with fine meat, seafood and seasonal ingredients. Love the decor and atmosphere at the restaurant. Enjoyable meal! And highly recommended to anyone visit the city.

Some work colleagues and I went here last night for dinner as I had wanted them to try an authentic Japanese Teppanyaki experience and this restaurant did not disappoint whatsoever! We splurged on scallops, prawns (live at first..amazing) then the Kobe beef, vegetables and fried rice. All of it was outstanding beyond measure and we agreed this was one of... More

I seriously hate to 3-star this but just have to. The teppanyaki experience was fantastic, and the wife was very pleased (birthday dinner), the Kobe met expectations for excellence. BUT, when we were moved to the bar (with beautiful city views) for dessert and coffee, FOUR cockroaches made it up into the countertop, one of them quite large, scaring the... More

During a work trip to Tokyo last week, I had the pleasure of dinning at Mon cher ton ton. The experience starts with the view - 52 floors up the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, you have a panoramic view across the Tokyo skyline. There were eight of us seated around the teppan, and what followed was a true delight. We started... More

A short trip to Tokyo with the wife. Ordered the excellent Kobe set, an a la carte Kobe beef and an a la carte chateaubriand. Everything was excellent, although have had slightly better Kobe elsewhere. The chateaubriand - in my humble opinion - is much much better value for money. Almost cooked to perfection. Great texture and juice. Food was... More

Went with my wife. Between us we ordered one excellent Kobe set, one a la carte Kobe beef and one a la carte chateaubriand. We also shared a bottle of burgundy. A pretty much classic steak dinner. Kobe beef was excellent although I might have had slightly better elsewhere before. The chateaubriand was cooked to perfection (medium rare) - and... More

We had the 30,000 yen 50th anniversary dinner consisting of caviar, foes gras, lobster, vegetables, prime Kobe prime steak and truffle fried rice. It seems like all the luxury food categories were covered and it was generally well executed. However, the main event, the Kobe prime steak, was "so so". It was about the same caliber as the 5,600 yen... More

We just blew through $54,000 yen over 30mins! Its our last night at Tokyo and we really wanted to try Kobe beef, so we rushed all the way and arrived the restaurants at 9.25pm (last order 9.30pm, closing time 10.30pm). Who would have known that all the chefs go home at 10pm?! The chef was rushing through all the dishes.... More

Food wise this place was amazing...the kobe beef outstanding (you even... More

We went to this restaurant in Tokyo because we were staying in Shinjuku and wanted Kobe beef. All I can say is "Wow!" It was a six course dinner and you can upgrade any prix fixe menu to Kobe beef for 4,000 yen, which in my case ended up working out to be cheaper than the designated Kobe menu. I... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
