I've been here once before and coming back again, the food is such a classic. They have really perfected the art of the katsudon and I've never tasted it anywhere else that does it better than here. It is pricier than most lunch places but what you are getting is very very high quality. The pork they give you is... More

This is a very convenient location for foreigners with good air-conditioning and and easy to understand menu with a variety of choices in size of your tonkatsu, and for extra trimmings. While the curry sauce and the tonkatsu were delicious, you could get a cheaper meal just around the area. This is certainly a swankier place that is easy for... More

My first Tonkatsu and I am happy I had it here. Despite the announced 30 minutes wait we decided to queue up and wait (very busy on weekends so be warned and prepared). After all the Tripadvisor reviews had promised piggy-magic to happen in this place. The queue moved along slowly and gave time to behold the ambiance in this... More

Very good tonkatsu (schnitzel-esque meat) in a fantastic timewarp interior. Very oldschool staff. Great food. Heavenly sauce!

Very good and reasonably priced! I went to the #1 tomkatsu place in kyoto which is also very popular on trip advisor, but THIS was even better! Left feeling so full and happy!

OMG! I never thought a tonkatsu could taste this good. No wonder this restaurant is considered the best of its kind in the whole of Tokyo. I ordered the kurobuta (Japanese black pork) loin - the meat was evidently juicier with much finer meat fibre. It was so tender, I could almost tear it open with a slight prod of... More

The food was delicious and the portions were quite big. Its a cozy restaurant where you easily stay a bit longer and don't have to rush out again quickly.

Go early because this place is always packed and the line takes about an hour , but the tonkatsu is worth the wait. The decor in the main hall feels like a ryokan in the countryside. The kurobuta- black pork from Kyushuu is soft and tender enough to cut with chopsticks. Delicious! Go at 11am if you don't want to... More

Had Tonkatsu which was as good as you will find in most places. The restaurant is quite large so there is a good chance that you will find a table.

Excellent meal. Had the "Tokyo X" which is a bit fattier than the standard one, which is great too btw. Will be back for sure.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
