Yoshinoya is a chain of fast food restaurants all over Japan. Service is quick, premises are clean, and it's good inexpensive food.

We stopped into Yoshinoya at around 8am right before tackling Meiji Shrine. The restaurant was pretty much deserted when we walked in – sans one other customer. There are only bar seats at this branch of Yoshinoya so you’re up close to the kitchen. Our food came out pretty darn fast and I have to say the rice, for a... More

This was some of the best food I had on my holiday, they were open when most other places had already closed! The food was amazing and cheap!

A very good place to eat. A well spread restaurant chain all over Tokyo. Very reasonable prices (or cheap should I say) and the food is fantastic. You can find them open any time of day (and night). Would recommend!

This is one of the biggest bowl-like restaurants in Japan. The meal can be really cheap if you take the traditional one. It's not as tasty as Sukiya or other small franchises, but it's a good price meal. They offer free tea and water too, which is nice (usually restaurants in Japan offer free water, but not everyone offers tea).

My father-in-law loved this restaurant so we indulged him. The food is ok but I'm not so sure about the cleanliness. Everything were in vacuum sealed packets so the staff just either boil it or put it in the microwave. I enjoyed the eel though.

Short and simple, just go and try it! It's cheap. It's old school. It's a comfort food. It's simple. A bowl of tasty hot rice topped with thinly sliced, specially flavored, beef and onions. Even if you Can't use chop sticks, they will give you a spoon. Possibly if you look foreign, a spoon will be next to your plate.... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
