Saw the recommendations and went to the place. We waited for our food for over 30min to come. The unagi rice bowl that I've gotten cost over 3000yen and the quality of the fish is so bad. I would have rather spend my money at...a place like tsukiji than tori take. Worst experience in my entire trip. Never going back after that experience.More

This was my 2nd time back at Toritake and standards have definitely dropped. I remember the chicken skewers to be alot more flavourful and tender but this time round it was just OK... There was nothing great that would me visit this place again and...if you're not a smoker or hate the smell of smoke, then avoid this place.More

They are famous for a reason! We are in love with it! There is no word could describe how tasty they are! Their Chargrilled BBQ meat make me close my eyes when I taste them EVERY-TIME! You must try it yourself. I have been to...Tokyo 4 times within the last few months and I have visited 7 times in total! Hope you can see the quality from the photos!More

Happened on this place while on a wander. They were grilling skewers in front of the window which looked to have 10 years of grease on it. Gave it a miss, walked about 500 meters before turning back. By golly, it did smell good. Menu...is all chicken. English menus are available. If you like fatty meat, I highly recommend the chicken tail (butt). I also highly recommend the leeks. Washed down by a beer (they ask if you want a large or small one - go big), and all is good with the world. Yes, there is some smoke from nearby patrons - but it is what it is.More

We passed by this place bec they were ccoking Yakitori infront of the window. The place does not look appealing at all. They have a smoking area on the 2nd floor. Non smoking is on the ground floor and lower level. You are seated japanese...style on the floor. However the yakitori is delicious and the servings are large. 2 sticks are enough for a person. I highly reccomend this place!More

New Toritake shop recently opened few steps away from the main Toritake shop, I decided to try new shop since its new and less crowded and smoke so we can eat the famous yakitori before catching our train. We ordered for Yakitori don and requested...for water and service tea. As we want to have a meal quickly and very hungry around 10pm. Within few minutes female staff served hot green tea and said that we cannot dine without ordering drinks so they serve us with hot green tea with charge approx 300 yen, and service tea can be served later after eating, we then accept it anyway. (Main shop does not require this and serve with service tea or water as per customer request) Our order yakitori don arrived and food quality is good. Same as the main shop However, yakitori is bit dry and sauce is lesser than the usual in main shop so I requested for tare sauce. (Food is not hot by the way but we want to eat and catch our train, no time ) Male Staff serve the sauce like throwing into table!! We were surprised with the staffs attitude and behavior. My visitors also noticed staff behavior. We just finish our food and no water or service tea at all. When we check out and pay the bill i informed the cashier about it. I live in Tokyo for more than 20 years and first time to experience such kind of service. Very disappointing and unpleasant place to dine in.More

Seated quickly for a small place. Food was served fast and right off the grill. Although I was there shortly after opening, they were already out of chicken neck and chicken oysters unfortunately. Chicken was excellent!

A great little yakitori restaurant hidden in behind the Shibuya station and easily spotted from the street by the clouds of smoke from the kitchen. The menu has a large range of meat and vegetable offers with either the 'salt' or 'sauce' options, I flicked...between both. I have eaten here twice, once in the main entrance level and once downstairs in non smoking - both times great fun. Cost is minimal, even with the must have a drink rule. Get in early as some of the popular dished (like unagi) go quickly.More

After pounding Ramen throughout our vacation, we were ready for an evening of Izikaya and Yakitori eats. Toritake delivered... Toritake Service: . Our server brought us English menus which made the ordering easy. The kitchen kept the dishes coming to the table promptly and the...beers fresh. You pay upstairs with the cashier. Totitake cuisine: All the grilled skewers were delicious and cooked perfectly. The chicken, rice and egg bowls were tasty and perfect compliments with the skewers. All the vegetables were fresh and made me feel healthy af as I washed down all these great food with beers. This is a place that can get expensive quickly because the food is flavorful all around. Totitake ambiance: We were greeted immediately upon entry, party of 5 and they walked us downstairs to be seated as this was the non-smoking section. We get to the basement, instructed to take off our shoes and sit on mats that were placed on the floor. The table only sat about a foot or so off the ground. A unique Japanese dining experience for foreigners? yes. Did I start cramping up because I'm inflexible af? yes. Overall was it fun sitting on the floor drinking and downing beers in Tokyo? Absolutely. You'll find a lot of locals here which attests to the quality of izikaya Toritake has to offer. If in the area, it's definitely a place to check out but be sure to stretch! =) Enjoy!More

We ate here on a Saturday night visit to Shibuya. We were seated immediately at a low table on the bottom floor. We've read complaints about cigarette smoke, but we did not experience any of that, as the bottom (basement) floor seemed completely smoke free....We also heard about poor service, but our experience was the opposite -- the waiter made very helpful menu suggestions, and we received our food and drink quickly. And as for the food, it was excellent! Seems like every part of the chicken was available to eat, and there were even some vegetarian options offered. Our only complaint was the difficulty in getting up from the low tables after sitting so long enjoying our food. Would definitely return.More

There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
