Great fresh sushi & sashimi sets, the crab salad is our all time favorite. No nonsense service, prompt and efficient. Make sure you get your ticket in line and ready for a wait. Your party must be all present before a table/seats are offered. Will definitely return for more.

Lived in Tokyo before and frequented their Honten (main shop) at Umegaoka, whenever I return to Tokyo again I would always visit there or come to this outlet in Shibuya. The wait can be long, but well worth it every time.

Queued for about 2 hours. Food wasn't that great, you can get it elsewhere fresher and cheaper, like at Tsukiji Market.

The Sushi here is really good for the price. Just be prepared to wait in a loooong line. The service isn't the best but what can you expect when they are always busy. A must for visitors.

We have been here with 2 of my very good friends on their first day in Japan. The place was recommended by Monocle so we thought It's worth a try. Before ordering, surprisingly one waiter took the menu from our hands and hand it over to Japanese customers at the next table, so we had to ask for an other... More

We chose to eat at this place thanks to the good reviews on Tripadvisor. A side problem of this choice is of course that the place is utterly popular, so the waiting time was fairly high. There is some form of queue system for which you are forced to monitor where you are in the queue. Or, like we did,... More

Went to Midori Sushi back in 1994 in Umegaoka, Setagaya-ku. Was only a single restaurant back then but the reason for its fame and fortune is still apparent! Fresh, Delicious, Great Value, Plentfiful produce with fun sushi chefs and staff. Came at 5:30pm and only had a 10 minute wait! Can't wait to come again. Helpful hint: Walking around the... More

We came for a last dinner before returning home after a 3 week Japan vacation. We were looking for a really nice dinner so we chose Umegaoka for its great reviews and can only join in the euphoria. Of course we also had to pull a number and wait for 45-50 mins before we got two seats at the counter... More

We have to wait for one hour even when you arrive at 11:30am for lunch. Nothing really special if you are used to sushi meal. If you are in a hurry, don't bother to wait. You do not miss much.

Arrived and collected a ticket to guarantee my place in the queue. After a two hour wait (With a 15 minute walk outside whilst I was waiting), I was welcomed in and managed to get a bar seat. The food I received over the next hour was completely mind-blowing, and the freshest fish I have ever eaten. You may believe... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
