Great place for ramen if you're in the area and want something cheap and cheerful. Very friendly staff, quick service, tasty noodles. Massive portions too! Just make sure you order the egg as it doesn't come as standard.

We used to live about 100m away and eat there often. Good atmosphere and good ramen. We always just ordered the regular bowl, with a bowl of rice and ikura, plus gyoza. When we moved away from Japan, they gave us a bowl - we still have it.

I've been a few times and always thought it was called "99 Ramen" because that's how I used to read the kanji on the sign. It is very popular with local people and with Japanese from further afield. Plenty of choice of delicious ramen recipes and a handul of side dishes. Traditional and novel variations on the general theme of... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
