This is a small and friendly place with really good food. English-speaking personnel. Recommended to book in advance.

This place is just great. It is amazing food served by fun people who really have a loved of cooking. The food is traditional with small modern and European twists. Great value for the quality and then is in the heart of a great neighbourhood to continue your evening. I would go back in a heartbeat!

This place is causal and relaxed. The food is very nice and they know how to make great raw fish dishes. The other fish dishes were nice. The only item which was a little below standard was the fish soup.

We had a very nice meal here. Food is very fresh & tasty, prepared & plated in a very attractive way, menu is quite interesting. I too am a fan of the "tuna spare ribs" but they were not as spectacular as others say, and it's not a giant portion. The sashimi was extremely nice. The atmosphere reminds me of... More

This is a very popular restaurant. We had a 8.30 booking and had to wait ; outside on a v cold night as there is no waiting area outside. We came in anyway and loitered by the toilets till the table was ready. We have come to understand that waiting and waiting outside is a common Tokyo experience. I hesitate to criticise... More

Recommend making a reservation at this place. It is small and fills up quickly. We ordered a set meal so we could sample more dishes. The sashimi was delicious - so fresh and delicate! The fish carrpaccio and tuna jaw were items we'd never had before - very tasty. The rockfish was prepared perfectly - it melted in your mouth.... More

We visited 2 years ago in 2014 after reading some rave reviews. That visit did not disappoint so we went back again and came out feeling "half filled". Here you go with our comments: 1. Instead of ala carte there are set meals now, presumably more tourists are visiting now; 2. The fish cheek specialty was as good as before... More

An amazing restaurant with really nice food. Fusion Japanese food. Try the kobe beef sushi, it is so good we had it twice! Friendly chefs, great service and good prices.

Was recommended Kaikaya by a local friend (who booked and pre ordered the set menu for us)... and was the most incredible meal. Possibly the freshest seafood i have ever had, such a good variety of dishes. Topped with the novelty of grating your own wasabi root and ice cold draught beer in a really funky place. Worth the money... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighborhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
