Self indulgent staff and bigoted foreign owner make this one place to avoid. low end expat clientele mix with young noisy ill mannered Japanese clientele to create a true “bring your own headphones” atmosphere. Sake is the only redeeming factor and is recommended to be...consumed elsewhere 0 out of 10.More

This standing bar serves an incredible variety of sake in a funky hip standing bar. Try it cold (from the fridge) - they give it a whack and it freezes up like a slushie. One of our favourite stops!

I am Canadian, frequently going to Japan several times a year. I stop at Buri everytime. I was introduced to this bar by a Japanese friend who knows well about bars and sake in Tokyo. Without a doubt, it was a discovery for me and...it’s a hidden jewel in a small street of Ebisu. The atmosphere is great, customers are friendly and the staff is perfect. Tanaka-san will recommend you the best frozen sake to suit your taste or to initiate you to the world of sake. But don’t stop there! They also serve excellent food, including yakitori and good pizzas to name a few. Ideal to accompany sake. Also, wide variety of nice umeshyu (plum liquor), good japanese whiskey, local beers and well prepared drinks by the friendly professional bar tender. If you have one stop to do in Tokyo for one night, that’s the place to go! Everyone I introduced to this placed just loved it and wants to return! Below is a picture of my sake glass collection started this year ;-) I keep them in Canada! MathieuMore

Two of us are not lovers of Sake, having said that we both acquired a taste for it after we left this place. They have several types and the sake are frozen. Really cool place.

Came here for drinks with some co-workers. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Choosing different frozen cups of Sake was quite fun as the selection was large and helpful descriptions were in the menu. Each brand of sake has it's own cup that it comes in and...you can take them home (they'll even wash it for you before you head out). Space is quite small and it's a standing bar so no seats. The small space though definitely contributes to the atmosphere of the place.More

My boyfriend came here on his first visit to Tokyo and loved it so much, he took me there on our trip together this year. I remember him talking about these sake glasses, that when you hit them they become slushy and frozen- almost like...magic! He hadn’t been able to find them anywhere since. We had an amazing time and the staff was incredibly friendly- which is always appreciated coming from another country with a language barrier and such. If you are in the Shibuya area - or even remotely close- this bar is a must!More

For people who travel alone it's easier to talk to others because it's a standing bar (with some tables), the guests are a mix between foreigners and Japanese people. The waiter was really nice and gave me excellent food recommendations. Tuna tatar was delicious!

The manager is freakin rude and ask me to go away In really rude way when I was just drinking my beer and enjoying the moment . Just because a big group of people came in the bar . He already nearly throw my beer...when serving me and looks really pissed . After I told him that I didn’t move and to calm down he didn’t dare to do anything . However , he looks like he is clearly looking for a fight.there is some people on this site that were physically threaten , you can read their review , he didn’t go that far for me as I stayed calm but this clearly not acceptable and should not happen in Tokyo. Don’t give business to this bar! There is so many bars in ebisu , skip this one !!!!More

A very cool and happening bar with a wide range of sake selection. Try the frozen sake and ask for recommendation. The pork skewer tasted superb! Other small Tapas-like dishes are also very yummy.

Best nearby
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
