Yes, it's noisy. Yes, it's smoky, Yes, it's cramped and busy. Is it everything you want in a great izakaya? Yes!!! I live in Tokyo and have been to a number of other izakayas and they are all this way, so I don't quite understand the negative reviews. It is not fine dining or a romantic date place. Jomon is... Almost hidden down the small side street, this is a hidden gem in one of Tokyo's most bustling neighborhoods. Like many Japanese restaurants shoes are not welcome. We were a large party, tucked into a private back room. Though we laughed over some of the menu items, not quite in English, we were able to identify, and order, a delectable... More

My husband and I lived in Roppongi for all of 2014 and Jomon was one of our very favorite dinner spots. We recently returned to Japan for the first time and Jomon was at the top of our must-do list! I HIGHLY recommend the mushrooms, cheese and gingko nuts...but really everything on the menu is delicious. It is also a... More

We choose this place as we saw they advertised they were well known on Tripadvisor, and we did not regret it. Awesome food, good beer and the sake was good aswell, although a bit to much for my taste so I let my travelmate finish my glass. I highly recommend a visit!

I love this place. I go out of my way to come here every time I'm in Tokyo. The staff is so nice and friendly. They speak English very well. And they have great yaki tori. And bbq beef, pork, etc. love it here!!

Jomon is a great go to for tourists and those living in Tokyo. The izakaya style restaurant has a wonderful lively atmosphere, loads of sake, and absolutely beautiful food. Great for a date or with a group!

Surely there must be better Izakaya restaurants than this? Food was average, good place to socialize but that's where the positives end. Its expensive, staff are curt, place is smoky, too crowded and noisy.... the list goes on. We couldn't wait to to get out of there.

I love the atmosphere and the way how they work in a business. It's very authentic yakitori with an awesome taste! The price was quite high but it's worth! Super duper highly recommend!!!

This is a very unique restaurant to find in downtown Tokyo! It's a small barbeque place, with a very nice ambience and great food. Recommended if you look for something special.

Super noisy and crowded. The food is very salty and the drinks are definitely overpriced. The waitress couldn't understand English at all. I couldn't stand the noise so I finished my food very quickly and left. Didn't enjoy the dinner at all.
