We found this in lonely planet and ended squeezing in with one of us on milk crates sitting on one side and the other sitting opposite in the window. This arrangement made total sense for a crowded night. We loved the mix of grilled meats, vegetables, and cheese; in fact we reordered our meal for a second round. The staff... More

I heard about this little gem in Roppongi from a friend and thought I would check it out. We sat facing the chefs as they cooked up some superb food in front of us. They were also great at giving us recommendations on their food and extensive drink menue. This place has a really fun atmosphere and has a great... More

I'm not a carnivore by any means but I've just been finding that in Japan, the amount of meat served is just not adequate. I usually keep my protein intake higher and am finding it really tough. This is a cool, hipster vibe type of Izakaya establishment. You have both locals and foreigners dining here due to the Roppongi Hills... More

Really delicious Yakitori, traditional setting, great atmosphere, fun serving staff who were very attentive. A really great meal. The chicken breast skewers were slightly lacking in the "umami" compared to the rest (pork belly, lotus roots, beef skirt, chicken meatballs) but that didn't dampen the experience at all.

Nice, friendly atmosphere, with a slightly boozy feel. The food was delicious and even though we weren't sure of everything we ordered- it was all delicious. Would highly recommend if you're in the neighborhood.

Unmissable izakaya in Roppongi. Bit of a queue on a Monday night, but worth every second of the wait - would've been worth waiting even longer! Take your shoes off at the door and sit at the counter if you can to watch them work their yakitori magic. The whole experience was so delightful. We ate skewer after skewer of... More

Yes, it's noisy. Yes, it's smoky, Yes, it's cramped and busy. Is it everything you want in a great izakaya? Yes!!! I live in Tokyo and have been to a number of other izakayas and they are all this way, so I don't quite understand the negative reviews. It is not fine dining or a romantic date place. Jomon is... Almost hidden down the small side street, this is a hidden gem in one of Tokyo's most bustling neighborhoods. Like many Japanese restaurants shoes are not welcome. We were a large party, tucked into a private back room. Though we laughed over some of the menu items, not quite in English, we were able to identify, and order, a delectable... More
