We were really impressed with this restaurant. It is a lovely location in a leafy street near a temple, and the staff and service, from greeting to goodbye, were impeccable. The tasting menu was playful and there were some truly imaginative and unique dishes. I have to say that, like many others, I found the signature dish of slow roasted... More

As a two star Michelin restaurant you obviously go with high expectations - I have to say these were exceed in every way. We had the set lunch - my wife choosing one track and myself the other - glass of champagne to start and a very reasonable 2000 Chateau Neuf du Pape - which showed the extensive wine list... More

If you are looking for a wonderful dining experience then this is it - while it is a 2* Michelin restaurant, it surpassed some of the 3* restaurants I have dined at. All dishes were creative and interesting, without being pretentious. I appreciated how there was great effort used to celebrate local ingredients and also ingredients from various regions of... The food was quite exquisite! Loved the atmosphere and the service! Definitely one of my favourite restaurants here in Japan! A must try if you are ever around the Minato ku area.

We had dinner there and as I always say most restaurants in Japan are very good and only outliers need a review because they are either exceptional or not worthwhile. Effervescence belongs to the former. 12 dishes flirting with perfection. The chef has an exceptional sense of combining ingredients and substituting classical ones for better new ones, by better I... Unlike the many so conservative so predictable 3Stars certainly some very decent ones, this 2** Michelin is very creative. Every taste of this elaborate menu was a great discovery highly illustrated by an excellent trilingual maitre d' and a sake master as well; pleasant seating and judging liked by Japanese as much as foreigners; it was our best experience of... Dinner here last year - late review. Pleasantly surprised by this all, wasn't expecting to end up here for dinner. Went for the full degustation, stuffed myself silly. Notes of interest: the apple pie idea #18 wasn't too fantastic, it was more a little gimmick; the roast monkfish and foie gras was very good; turnip dish not so; the roast... More

I really love here! My friend recommended and booked for me. So I was expecting a lot and they didn't let me down at all. All menus are awesome! It just feels like an first experience of serving foods and Texture and How to use ingredients and Combination of ingredients. It's totally amazing. I was admired all of menus. The... More

If u have a choice, but need a English server request for any Japanese server with simple English other than Zac (foreigner) because you will notice that his attitude needs bit of adjusting to and that may spoil your whole dining experience. We did not have any issue with Zac but also notice that he is one guy who is... More

Amazing experience with molecular gastronomy from a Japanese perspective of French cuisine. There is a reason it has won two Michelin stars.

L’Effervescence is a French word, which has the literal meaning such as “liveliness” or “bubbles” and also includes figurative meanings such as “to make something happen” “give birth” “to evolve” and “to make people gather”. It is said the original meaning of “Restaurant” comes from the word “restaurer = to recover”.
