Bit of a line when we arrived early, about 5:15 pm for dinner; the place is small and not the speediest for burgers but our salads were of a good size and the avocado burger were tasty and moist (and messy, as is necessary) with a bit of a smoky char to it. All in all, after two and half... More

If you're in Aoyama and thinking, "Man, I have about 25 bucks and really wish I could eat a 1/2 pound burger with half an avocado" then I know where you can go! You really have to check this place out! It is SUPER NARROW - I am 6'4 and can reach both walls, but 3 or 4 floors! Right... More

Went to the Aoyama location yesterday with the wife and 3-year-old. Would it be so difficult for the staff (cashier and waitress) to smile and act pleasant? When my overpriced order arrived, I asked the waitress for a fork and knife so I could cut the hamburger for my child. She said no, because I would "scratch their wooden plates."... More

I've been to the one at Sky Tree. They had just opened and my burger was dry and over-cooked. We tried going there later for Hawaiian pancakes twice, but the morning delivery was late... there is no storage in its small kitchen we later heard, so they get supplies every day before opening. But yesterday they DID have them and... More

Nothing mind blowing, but honest burgers and assortment of accompaniments. There are two shops near my place, and I sometimes take stuff away when I'm too tired to cook. Decent value for money, but not cheap. As they cook to order, make sure you have plenty of time. I just makes me squirm a little when the staffers call out... More

Kua 'Aina are a chain, with 2 branches in Hawaii and about 20 in Japan (most in Tokyo or nearby). While we don't go here often (the Minami-Aoyama or Kashiwa branches), if we fancy a burger it's probably the best of them all. My personal favourite is the avocado burger. Delightfully messy and delicious!

Found out about kua'aina on Wikitravel. Wanted something different in Shibuya so we headed there. English menu on the wall, order at the counter. At the counter they have pictures of set menus too, so once we got there we had something new to consider. It would have been helpful if they put the sets up on the main board.... More
