Being recommended by an uncle, we managed a booking at this really "hidden" steakhouse in Giniza/Nihonbashi area. The hotel has to give us a pictorial sign and once you see "Tully's coffee," you will find the restaurant, which is located in the basement. Once you...More

I must say Shima is one of the classiest and tastiest steakhouses in the world! Take home a sandwich!

Our friend make a booking and we managed to add 2 seats thru the hotel. Location not easy to find as they don’t have a big sign and it’s on B1 in a commercial building (next to a Tully’s Coffee). Small restaurant but very cheerful....More

When you enter the small space that is Shima, it's almost hard to believe you are about to sit down and have one of if not the best steaks of your life. It's hidden in the basement of a building without any clear signage and...More

Marbled goodness that cuts like butter. I didn't try cutting the steak with a fork but it may very well be possible to do so.

Came to Shima after touring the fish market. The appetizer special for the day was a crab coquette which was the best crab cake I have ever had. The steaks were amazing. Sitting at the counter and getting to watch the cooks were was very...More

One of the best steak in the world. Shima is above and beyond the well known steak houses (lawry’s, ruth’s chris) in the world. Melt in your mouth A5 wagyu. Thick block of sirloin cooked perfectly.

This restaurant served the best steak I have ever tasted in my life. The other menu items were very simple and it has a no frills decor. But if you come for the steak you will be satisfied. If you can afford it.

We "accidentally" went to this steak restaurant. There are two restaurants with Shima in the name. We meant to go to the $$ restaurant, but ended up at the $$$$ restaurant. We had an excellent meal (the BEST steak I have ever had), and a...More

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular

You must reserve but we use a Japanese speaker to do so. It's quite small so risky to try walk in.
