Even though the food has a very good quality and the place (very small - only 6 seats on the lower section of the restaurant) is very Japanese like, the price for the Omakase menu is way to high. My wife and I did not...More

I was fortunate to dine at Ginza Iwa in 2016, when there was one sushi bar at this location on 1F. Since then, Iwa has realized that his Michelin star is a marketing asset, and opened up a second counter in the basement, expressly for...More

The restaurant opened at 12 noon sharp and people were lining up to wait for it to open. The sushi was delicious and our family love the sea urchin wrapped in seaweed the best. Even my daughter who has never tasted sea urchin loves it!...More

You're crazy if you fall for the hype of this place. We came in starving, had chef's tasting menu. Not one of our courses was "delicious". The fish was too fishy tasting. Most of the dishes lacked flavor and we both quickly developed unsettled stomachs...More

Sushi Iwa was such a pleasant experience we went twice during a period of 5 days. One time sat at the main restaurant with Iwa San at the helm and another day at the annex also with Iwa San. Extremely reasonable lunch set and more...More

Read about this 1* Michelin sushi restaurant in Japan Times, The Wandering Eater and Tiny Urban Kitchen so thought we would try it as a special treat. As we have young kids my wife went to the lunch menu, while I went elsewhere with kids....More

Nothing to add form what has already been said. One of the best meals of my life! Makes you wanna try other sushi places considered better than this just to see how can it possibly be better.

It's hard to imagine that a sushi meal could be worth spending hundreds of dollars. It was. The quality of the fish and the care of the experience were unparalleled. There is a set menu and they keep bringing exquisite dishes. The first few were...More

Hard to understand how anyone could fault this dinner unless there are different chefs. Our experience was brilliant, fun, and delicious. For me the high point was the scrumptious abalone. We had 29 different courses and never felt full. (I wrote each down.) This is...More

Atmosphere was pleasant and staff were very polite (as expected in all good Japanese restaurant) but was dissapointed w the sushi itself. We had the nigri sushi lunch. There was no build up of flavours, seasoning was too heavy and overwhelmed the taste of fish...More

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular

I would give it at least two weeks. It’s only 8 seats for the entire restaurant.
