The owner of this restaurant is most famous for always buying the first largest Tuna catch of the year...you can see it on the TV in the restaurant as you wait for your turn. Food is best served at ground floor as you can watch the sushi chefs doing their work...they also cater to tour groups on the upper levels.... More

The employees at this restaurant are very friendly and helpful when ordering food. I got the basic chirashi bowl and it was good. I ordered several pieces of unagi and salmon and was somewhat disappointed in the size of the fish as it seemed to be smaller than other places I went to. Overall it was a good experience but... My husband and I have eaten at Tsukiji several times, and this is our all time favorite place to eat. We love their tuna sampler platter which is pretty much life changing. You'll never look at sushi the same way after eating here. Every piece of fish served is very fresh and practically melts in your mouth. The slices of... More

It's not just the food. It's the communication with the waiter who doesn't speak English, the communication between the chefs, chefs and waiters, the way they prepare the food in front of you. Even the functional and somehow base interior. Certainly the taste and the quality of the food are in great importance as well. It happen I visited another... More

Do not go out of your way just to come here to eat, you will not miss anything that you can get at other sushi joints. Expected more from this place. At some other place when you sit at the bar, the chef or staff will tell you how to eat the sushi and sashimi. e,g, what goes with what,... More

This chain generally serves good sushi. I have found it to be reasonably priced for Japan standards and they have tourist friendly menus to help you order. If you are near the fish market-stop by for lunch or dinner

Wonderful experience. We couldn't speak a word of Japanese but the were very accommodating and helped us to choose a set course called Omacase. About £200 for two but was worth every penny. If we are lucky to visit Japan again. Will certainly visit again.

Our first night in Tokyo and just thought we'd give this place a try not even knowing anything about it. It was an incredible experience. The sushi is incredible...so fresh . Loved the salmon roe especially. Don't miss this.

The sushi is well prepared and even though there were only locals they made every attempt to make us feel like the rest of the families there. The staff was very helpful. Yes, there are a ton of Tokyo sushi places, but if you want a winner for sure, this one works. Drinks, a 13 piece sampler, soup, tempura squid,... More

I was welcomed with a smile and the smiles continued throughout my whole time at Sushizanmai. The staff were all so friendly and the food was absolutely incredible. All reasonably priced and prepared fresh infront of your eyes (I was sitting at the bar overlooking the preparation station). I highly recommend the fugu karage mmMMmmmMm! Do yourself a favour and...
