Now I'm European and I've been sipping coffee since I was born so really hard to tell whether it is the best coffee I've ever had but definitely top 5. The atmosphere reminds me of old French bar, almost like a nice speak easy transformed into coffee shop. The staff is welcoming, had a great time talking with the lady... More

I was determined to make it to Cafe de L'Ambre during my stay in Tokyo, and I am oh so glad I did. Having tried 2 coffees late this afternoon (one from 2004, the other from 2002), there is a chance that sleep may not come easy. But it was worth it. The coffees were luscious, the staff friendly and... More

Imagine if a coffee shop was actually just about the coffee...this spot, which has been here since 1948 is about coffee and only coffee. There are only 20 seats and regulars would came in constantly for a small, strong cup of joe crafted by hand from what I can only describe as coffee artisans. Beans are measured out per cup,... Love that once you enter this little coffee shop with the old-style bar and working ice box, you seem to just go back in time. But the best part is how they meticulously prepared everything by hand and how the coffee beans have been aged from 7 to 23 year. Amazing coffee! Try the iced versions as well.

This place was a huge talking point for us. We are big coffee lovers and spend a fair bit of time trying to master coffee making in the comfort of our own home. After visiting here I don't know why we bother as the coffee here was the best thing I have ever tasted. The master at this shop is... More

This tiny little coffee shop is found down a side alley in Ginza. They ONLY serve coffee, no snacks etc. this place is purely dedicated to coffee. The shop itself is full of dark wood, jars of beans, stained-glass lamps, beautiful intricate cups and saucers and a great curved wooden countertop. Sit at the bar if you can as you... More

The cafe decor feels like a 1920s prohibition theme cafe. I felt like anytime, I can knock on a random door and I'll be asked a password to enter a secret compartment! The coffee is excellent! I had a coffee from Mexico that was from 1976. The staffs are very knowledgeable about coffee and really take it seriously! A must... More

First rate service and beautifully prepared coffee inside the most vintage coffee house imaginable. You feel in a totally different world compared to the modern Ginza less than a block away. I can't recommend this place enough for those who love traditional coffee.

Excellent cafe! You must try a cup of over 10years coffee!
