The food was amazingly good. If you love tofu, you have to visit this restaurant. There are variety of tofu dishes, from appetizer, soup, main to desert. The place is nicely decorated and the price is reasonable. The only think I would suggest is to improve the service. There was a lack of attention for people who visit alone.

Was recommended by a friend and I'll highly do the same to others. Good value and absolutely full in our stomachs. This degustation menu will be a satisfying experience for tofu lovers and non tofu lovers alike. So many different ways to eat and cook tofu. There are other dishes on the menu but we chose their specialty. The 12... More

I really enjoyed this restaurant because I felt like I was getting a proper insight into Japanese cuisine albeit not every dish was a hit. The space was really interesting. For veg's you need to ask for a separate menu.

Because we had resrved at a minimum consuption of 5500 Yen per person we had a kaiseki dinner. It was not accepted to order a la carte some smaller dishes but at much higher total sum, which is not really reasonable for a western mind. The food was nicely decorated but the taste was not above an average restaurant of... More

Ume no Hana is a tofu restaurant on the 5th floor of the Namiki-dori building in Tokyo's Ginza district which does take a bit of finding as it is not at all obvious from the street. Ume no Hana is a fairly traditional Japanese style restaurant with pleasant surroundings. The main eating area is not luxurious but is comfortable enough... More

There is no dearth of restaurants in Japan that do good food. But there is of those that accept children. As far as our experience goes at least. So glad that they accept children. Have nappy changing facilities too. And are vegetarian friendly. The food was superb. We had a little private room to us - which was great to... More

Each course is based on tofu, and each course is distinct, delicious, and delightfully served. A pleasure for all the senses, this tofu-based restaurant is not to be missed. It's a chain throughout Japan, but don't worry about any "chain mentality" in how the food is prepared or served.

Excellent food, beautiful surroundings. The set menu I had was delicious and varied. Who knew tofu and yuba could be cooked in so many different ways?! The food is beautifully presented. This is a lovely place, particularly for a special/ formal/ business dinner. Highly recommended!
