Pretty unusual for a chinese restaurant that I know of with a Michelin star . It was worth it .Service and food was excellent. The only thing I resent was a cup of tea costing $15. This was as much as alcohol . The meal was wonderful but significantly costly ,but one star . Wow

We had a wonderful dining experience here on our first day of our stay. The food was excellent. The view is spectacular overlooking and service beyond.

The view was absolutely beautiful and decor was pleasant. Staff were very accommodating and knowledgable. The food was very disappointing. In February we came here for a full course set with wine pairings. Almost everything we had, wine included, was not good. It is impossible to describe how awful the Chinese wine and various courses were that evening. Considering we... More

My wife and I live in Hong Kong but were visiting Tokyo for the cherry blossom season. It wasn't long before we had a strong desire for some Cantonese food, and our friends recommended Sense in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel for lunch. The restaurant sits on the 37th floor of a new tower in the Nihombashi District. Everything is elegant... More

I was so excited to try this restaurant with my husband. I left feeling completely underwhelmed and totally ripped off. 3,000yen for 2 small bottles of water? That's just mean. I went to another michelin restaurant last night (l'efervesence) and the fancy bottled water was included which I thought was a nice touch. Besides overpaying for everything, I just can't... More

That the food is outstanding is a given, the White Bauhinia lunch set a particularly good bet with unlimited dim sum and choice morsels of Peking duck. The meal ended on a high note with one of the most delicious and refreshing desserts I've had in a long time in the form of mango coconut cream with fresh grapefruit. As... More

We were looking for somewhere to have a great dinning experience in Tokyo and come across this place, service was great, food was as you would expect, good but very small portion sizes. The view from the restaurant was amazing. I wouldn't go back but it's worth the experience.

An excellent Michelin starred Cantonese meal (prepared by Chef de Cuisine Kenichi Takase) with a beautiful view from the Sense restaurant overlooking Tokyo from the 37th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Tokyo, Japan. We selected the Uyon set menu for our meal with a 5 glass wine pairing; however, we believe the very friendly Director of Restaurants for the... More

Yes you want a window table, yes you have to use your credit card unsparingly, yes you have to understand this is classic Cantonese cuisine not fusion gung ho, yes you have to travel to Tokyo, yes you have to understand Japanese ways are different from those of your hometown. But if you can get over all of the above... More

We just enjoyed an outstanding evening meal at the Sense restaurant, the best Cantonese style food we have ever had the pleasure of eating. The Peking duck three ways is a must have. The wine list is extensive and covers all budgets, the service provided by all staff was impeccable! Truly a memorable experience that we will not forget.

Thank Shaun S
