After waiting 3 hours to attend the tuna auction on our first morning in Tokyo it was hard to imagine waiting another 4 hours to hit sushi dai or daiwa. Luckily a hidden gem exists in the middle of the two "known" places - Sushi Yamasaki. The line was significantly shorter at Yamasaki which many people think is due to... More

The fresh sushi with all its tasty and subtle flavors was life-changing to me. You should definitely visit this or some other sushi place at the market, if you're even slightly into sushi. Our chef was very kind and inviting (he even spoke english) and the menu was easily adjusted due to my crustacean-allergy. We waited for 30 min (not... More

Even though we live in Tokyo, this was my first visit to Tsukiji and the excuse came with a guest arriving from the US. Not surprisingly the choice of sushi in Tokyo is mindblowingly large and even at Tsukiji there are so many restaurants that it is difficult to know where to go, so we relied a little on trip... Fresh, rich, and tasty, a great way to start the morning at the fish market. Green tea was hot, the sashimi platter was top shelf, great toro, creamy uni, but the prize went to the surf clam sushi. Serv d fresh out of the shell, it was well prepared and a treat. It does not get any better. Worth the... More

Very delicious but have to wait around 1 hour 25 minutes, if not wait too long, I will definitely come back again, a little pricey compare to other areas..

This tiny restaurant probably only seats ten maybe twelve along a bar in a narrow shop in an alley in this huge fish market. Nevertheless there are two sushi chefs and two waiting staff. As we were a party of five we decided to split into two and three. My wife and daughter went in first and neither are sushi... More

We had been recommended by friends and family to get up really early and go to Tsukijii market for either Sushi Dai or Sushi Daiwa. It was 5 AM, and the line for both was already probably ~2-3 HOURS long. My husband and I like our sanity, so we decided to take a chance and wait ~30 min at Yamazaki... More

I would recommend this sushi restaurant only if you don't have time to stand in line for Sushi Dai or sushi Daiwa (for anyone who can't read the japanese signs this is the store in between sushi dai and sushi daiwa with a much shorter line). If you come here from the US and haven't had the other two then... More

Freshest sushi i have had; we wanted to try for Daiwa Sushi but it was sold our; and this was next door with good ratings! So we lined up, waited for 40 minutes and enjoyed every bite!!! Chef and staff were so friendly; apologizing for taking so long; served us tea while we waited. Love the food!!!
