Salt by Luke Mangan is located at a very prime spot opposite the Tokyo Station. Staffs there are professional but a touch overzealous. They would greet guests in Japanese language, but when hailed, they would shout out "YES". We had the 5-course degustation menu plus...More

I have eaten at the restaurant a few times over the years since it opened, most recently for a celebration dinner. We chose the set menu which I think offered great value at just 5,500 yen. The menu was a good size offering a few...More

I went to Salt at the last minute based on previous reviews and the interesting menu. I was not disappointed. From the amuse-bouche (gazpacho) to the piquant Thai-style shrimp starter to a great risotto (that needed a touch of salt), the food was a great...More

Salt is a modern restaurant in Tokyo's business district offering cuisine in a contemporary western style with an Australian accent. The decor is brash rather than soothing. The business lunch menu offers reasonable choice and is quite tasty. But the portions are very small and...More

The service is also excellent. If you are near Tokyo Station and happen to be hungry, try this. It is very elegant, but not in an iriitating manner.

A group of 5 from work visited this fine restaurant for a quick meal. The service was very attentive and the food was outstanding. We only had mains and my snapper was beautifully cooked and was a masterpiece on the plate. Everyone commented on their...More

Given the generally great reviews a friend and I decided to give this restaurant a try. Conveniently located on the 6th floor of a prominent Tokyo landmark across from the central railway station, it was easy to find. Our table was in the middle of...More

We visited Salt on a whim on our recent trip to Japan. Passing the Marunouchi Building on our way to the Imperial Palace grounds, we noticed an advert for Salt on the 6th floor. Aware of Aussie chef, Luke Mangan, we decided to have a...More

What a surprise to find such a great restaurant in an office/shopping centre building. We found it by accident and were so pleased we did as the food combined glorious Japanese styling with clean fresh Australian ideas. The waiter helped us in our choices perfectly...More

My friend and I went here for a casual dinner a week day and had the Taste of Australia menu priced at 6500 JPY+10% service charge. The food was great and the service was absolutely excellent. Will definitely go back.

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
