Situated on the top floor of an office- and departement building close to Tokyo Station. We had a lovely sunset over what we think was amount Fuji. The tasting menu comes in three varieres and food is delicious, the service is perfect and the Australian and New Zealand wine is excellent. We will definitely come back next time we are... More

Had late dinner here after working overtime in the local office. The good: it's open 'til late when some other places in the building close early and staff are friendly and helpful. The bad: it's a bit pricey though you should expect that from venues in this building generally.

Celebrated a friend's birthday today at Salt. Twelve of us enjoyed an excellent lunch course in a private room. Food was great and service was very attentive. Each course was introduced in Japanese and English. Rather pricy at 7, 000 yen each (the wine probably jacked up the price a bit) so I won't go back often but it was... More

In Tokyo for a week and ended up going back to this restaurant twice during my stay.Being a Kiwi I was aware of Luke Managan , I thought this would be a good chance to try a '' taste of Australia'' . Thoroughly enjoyed, on both occasions I went for the set menu, though obviously a different menu. I remember... More

Salt by Luke Mangan is located at a very prime spot opposite the Tokyo Station. Staffs there are professional but a touch overzealous. They would greet guests in Japanese language, but when hailed, they would shout out "YES". We had the 5-course degustation menu plus a strange warm and creamy yellow shooter (corn soup?) as an amuse bouche. Surprisingly, waiters/waitresses... More

I have eaten at the restaurant a few times over the years since it opened, most recently for a celebration dinner. We chose the set menu which I think offered great value at just 5,500 yen. The menu was a good size offering a few options but not so many that it got confusing. It consisted of 3 courses with... More

I went to Salt at the last minute based on previous reviews and the interesting menu. I was not disappointed. From the amuse-bouche (gazpacho) to the piquant Thai-style shrimp starter to a great risotto (that needed a touch of salt), the food was a great mix of Asian and Western, and impeccably done. Excellent and reasonable wine list.

Salt is a modern restaurant in Tokyo's business district offering cuisine in a contemporary western style with an Australian accent. The decor is brash rather than soothing. The business lunch menu offers reasonable choice and is quite tasty. But the portions are very small and fussily presented, leaving a sense of unfulfilment.

The service is also excellent. If you are near Tokyo Station and happen to be hungry, try this. It is very elegant, but not in an iriitating manner.

A group of 5 from work visited this fine restaurant for a quick meal. The service was very attentive and the food was outstanding. We only had mains and my snapper was beautifully cooked and was a masterpiece on the plate. Everyone commented on their food being sensational. A great night out and we will definitely go back. The price... More
