I cannot recommend Tonkatsu Marugo enough. Tucked away in a corner in Akihabara, it is a traditional Japanese restaurant (very small and cozy inside) which serves the most delicious tonkatsu at reasonable prices. All three members of my family chose to have the pork cutlet,...More

It's only fitting to have eaten the best tonkatsu in Japan, or anything Japanese for that matter. Featured in Tokyo's Michelin Guide 2016, Takayoshi Takeuchi's mastery of the "low temperature frying" technique has garnered quite the followers Marugo has to date, both locals and tourists....More

First of all, I have to recommend the shrimp tempura. It is the best one I have ever eaten. It’s worth even though I waited in a queue 1 hour and I would wait again for it. The fried pork is also delicious the the...More

So far the best tonkatsu I ever had after many trips here! Although the standard of the pork isn't as great as the previous time I went to, its still quite good!

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. Food was excellent, people so friendly and welcoming. One of the best in Japan so far. We waited in a queue for about 40 min but it was worth it. The food is made freshly once you order. Best...More

This is the best tonkatsu I’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside and the pork is so succulent and tasty. Well worth the wait. Big thumbs up for the overall meal. The rice and soup that came with it is excellent too.

After coming here, I never want to eat Tonkatsu in the UK. The pork was so tender and juicy, despite being fried in the breadcrumbs. Furthermore, the crispy coating on the pork was just perfect. Everything was great, the queue was around 20 minutes though....More
