I heartily agree w/ so many other TA reviewers. This is an exceptional restaurant featuring authentic &very traditional dishes and some unique Italian fare. The pasta was delicious - generous portions and very very tasty. Also, quite a few options for a multi-course meal w/ daily specials @ a very reasonable price. The staff is VERY personable and attentive too.... More

I went here based on a Trip Advisor review. We were not disappointed. The staff are welcoming and very well trained, except that our second bottle of red was not poured into fresh glasses. The food was very good. Great veal with anchovies sauce. Excellent beef. Three blackouts for happy birthday songs was a bit much, but hey, who can... More

I go to Elio Locanda everytime I visit Tokyo. The food is delicious and authentic Italian food. The owner, Elio, is from Calabria, Italy. This place is always crowded so I would suggest making reservations. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. The first dish I would recommend is the Canape N'Duja which is a real specialty dish... More

I recommend going all in and having an aperitif, zuppe, antipasti, pasta, primi, secondi, insalate, desert and grappa to finish - go the 2 hour session! I've had great meals and very good meals but the atmosphere always makes up for any lapse. Service is always fun - I only caution to verify the fish and origin if it matters... More

Had a business dinner with a group of people who had visited this place earlier. I had my expectations pretty high when going to the "one of Tokyo's best Italian restaurants". Decoration is special and may even feel cozy but I was disappointed in many ways. The food taste was quite ok, but even I am not very picky it... More

Had enjoyed delicious dishes few times in the past for both private and business, then visited again since several years ago for memorial dinner with my family. Still Elio is keeping brilliant atmosphere and also serving excellent foods, I really agree that many of Italian brands appoint Elio for their catering and events. Grazie!! Vino bianco dela casa... We managed to rock up without a reservation and squeeze in at 9pm. The crowd was a mix between locals and tourists. The service was friendly though certainly more likely to up sell than is common here. We had fusilli with sausage as a starter and it was really good. The sausage had a hint of fennel and the tomato... More

Having lived in Italy for three years, I always seek out authentic Italian food wherever I am. Yes, I know I'm in Tokyo, and we've had sushi. If you're looking for something else, check out Elio's and you'll find it filled with Japanese families and couples who know that this is the place for great Southern Italian cooking. Easy to... I have been going to Elio's since many years but every time I go back it's a guarantee for quality and great hospitality. Food is amazing (last time I had 'nduia in Japan!) And all the staff help you to have a great experience. A Must in Tokyo.

We were ten of us at dinner. The restaurant was packed and loud. The owner welcomed us warmly. He remained in contact since we got in till we left. The food was delicious. All the recommendations made by the maitre de were well received by us. While we were there at least six birthday greetings were sung out aloud and... More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighborhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
