Enter through an unprepossessing bar area and through the dining room to a shaded terrace to enjoy 3 courses of good food, with a 1/4 litre of wine included, for less than 15 euros.Hot goat's cheese, with a bucketful of lardons, to start, whiting in a mushroom cream sauce, tarte aux pommes to finish. all tastsy and well prepared. A hidden... More

The restaurant has a pleasant garden at the rear, shaded by a huge tree. The menu was pretty basic, but you couldn't fault the quantities or price.

Love this village and everything about it. Not eaten here, but the food looks very good. Will be visiting again before long!

Having been turned away by a few restaurants we were beginning to think that lunch was a lost cause until we found this establishment. We were made very welcome although we were late. The place was well attended by locals which is always a good sign. The service was fast and friendly and the food as expected really nice and... More

Our favourite place for a quality meal at a very reasonable price. At least four choices of entrees and of plats on the 24 Euro menu. With apero drinks, half a litre of house wine, 3 courses and coffees came to just under 65 Euros for two. Service was at a gentle pace, ideal for a Sunday, and the room... More

It's always a good sign when a dining room is nearly full at lunchtime, especially in October after most of the tourists have gone home. I was across the street at about 1:10 p.m. on a Wednesday, and I saw an American-looking trio of adults glancing at the front door, and then open it to go inside. I followed them... More

A really good place to experience true French style eating. We had The Salad De Mer but was a bit disappointed in that is was all lettuce and a little salmon 2 prawns small and 2 scallops also very small. Whilst this was not our expectation it was a typical french salad. Fresh and good dressing.

My wife and I spent 4 weeks in June at a beautiful rental in Saint Chinian. While there we had several meals and enjoyed nights just sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine. The back patio of La Paix is a fabulous way to enjoy wonderful French cuisine. The staff are very friendly and their salads are to die for.... More
