My husband and I stopped at this restaurant during our trip to Lanzarote and after seeing Haria we took the road up to see the Mirador de haria and right here there is a restaurant. We decided to have lunch and enjoy the view of the valley at the same time. We ordered papas arrugadas and a salad, a glass of red wine for €17.50. The restaurant is large with large windows and a large terrace from which to admire Haria and the valley of palm trees. The staff was friendly enough.

Bar Restaurante Los Helechos is located on road, near HarĂa, a town in Lanzarote Island, in Canary Islands. It is a very nice place to stop, if you drive on road. Here you can breakfast and lunch and I came here to breakfast a coffee with milk and enjoy with the views of HarĂa (a town with traditional white houses), the ocean and the surrounding mountains (old volcanos). Very nice views from the terrace. A very good stop to relax.

There is a large car park here and a big cafe and restaurant clearly designed for coach parties. We had an ice cream here which was very nice. Our ulterior motive was to enjoy the fantastic views away from the wind as the restaurant has huge windows with a great vista.

We stopped by chance at this place, because we were already getting late after spending the whole day from one place to another. Besides, we were attracted by its viewpoint. And it was a great discovery: homemade food with a fantastic menu and service. You can try a good (and homemade) Canarian ranch, apart from other local dishes.
One guarantee is that most of their clientele is local, which is something to keep in mind. And once you finish lunch, you can access the viewpoint and see all of HarĂa and the surroundings, being in one of the highest areas of Lanzarote.

A great stop for delicious coffee and yummy cake together with Probably the most spectacular views over Haria, Arieta & the north east coast. What a location. They have obviously spent some money on refurbishment
And safety aspects. The staff were delightful fast and efficient. Ask to see the “Haria Witch”
Especially impressive at night . They could do with putting a few tables outside in front of the restaurant to make more of the views. It’s going to be a favourite “coffee and cake stop” but they also have a lunch/dinner menu. Something to try in the future.

If this café wasn`t part of an escourted tour of the North of the Island, I wouldn`t have chosen to stop. It is a large canteen style café designed to cater for the bus tours. A buffet of sorts is available for €8.00 including red wine or water (stick to the water). There are some tables outside at the front, refreshments can be bought from the shop.

We arrived at 2pm, we left at 2.45pm having not been served, not even drinks.
I even went and collected the menus from a waiter so someone would of known we were there.
The restaurant was 50% full and they only served the guests who had already eaten their main meal and wanted coffee or further food.

The atmosphere is like a busy staff canteen. Food is regular but way too expensive. Views are good but you can have it for free without entering the restaurant.
You need to be really hungry or thirsty if you enjoy this place.

The lunch stop for my 'Grand Tour' coach trip.
A number of coaches arrived together, and it was a short wile till we were shown into a hall with many long 'bench type' tables. After being allocated our seats, we were then told to go to the buffet area and choose the food we wanted - wasn't spectacular food, but it was hot and filling - it did the job, but I wouldn't recommend it for a Michelin Star award.......
Outside was a terrific viewpoint down to the coast - bit windy there though as so many found when their hats got blown off (mine included) !!

Can't believe there is actually good reviews of this place,we stopped here as part of a bus tour ,3 buses arrived at the same time stand in a queue for a while you can't see what's available....when you can they throw food on the plate you haven't asked for ...they then try and rush you through...tried to short change me by 10 euros ,when I complained about it the guy serving who was speaking English all of a sudden couldn't, I had what the called paella, this was just dry tasteless rice....y wife had chicken which wasn't nice as did the other couple at our table ...all the plates of food were left as it wasn't nice ...w/o.ens toilets also had a long queue...the best thing to do when stopping here is to bring your own sandwiches....the view is amazing sadly the food isn't.

We had only stopped for a coffee on our tour of northern Lanzarote, but the views from Los Helechos fairly blew us away. The café section offers a buffet of homemade pastries and there are plenty of hearty meals on offer, too. But we just needed some of that steamy Spanish coffee and respite at the great picture window. This afforded spectacular views of the northeast coast and valleys where great birds drifted effortlessly in the breeze. It was only when we ventured out to the terrace that the force of those wind currents reminded us that this was February in Lanzarote. Even in the subtropics, the term winter has some resonance. Okay, it is not like three months of rain in Rochdale or ice and sleet on the M62, but it can get bracing here. So hold on to your hat!

We were on a Grand Tour of Lanzarote and this was our stop for the view across the island that was nonexistent due to low cloud. It was early morning and there were some nice cakes if you wanted them. The coffee was a little nondescript, but was only €2.

We stop here every time we come to Lanzarote. The view of the island is great. The food and drink is good, not amazing, there is nicer on the island. Quick service though, our coffees made it to our table before we did! Nice selection of cakes to. Worth coming here if you are nearby, just for the view alone.

Home-cooked food and island ca type, don't go in a hurry because the service is slow but the views and charm of the place, are worth it. Then you can go to the viewpoint for free
