A contemporary vision of Empordà cuisine. This is the essence of Castell Peralada Restaurant and the legacy that our chef Xavi Sagristà left us. Now Javi Martínez, with whom he shared experiences for 15 years, takes over the kitchen of Castell Peralada Restaurant and will continue to share his recipes and his vision of Empordà cuisine to keep on delighting us. The other half of this tandem is, of course, the head waiter and sommelier Toni Gerez. I can't say otherwise, but if you're in the area and like culinary food, you should treat yourself here. The restaurant is located on the castle's second floor, and on the first floor is a casino. Through a staircase, you come out on the restaurant's terrace, where the tables with beautiful linen-covered are waiting for you. You have a beautiful view of the pond and the castle's garden from the terrace. Breathtaking, and the many storks make it even more romantic than it already is. Host Toni Gerez, known from El Buli and the spin-off Mas Pau, guided us to a nice spot at the edge of the terrace with perfect views. It was a nice reprieve after once having a great night at his Mas Pau restaurant. Our servers came to introduce themselves; I, unfortunately, forgot their names, sorry, but both the young man and the French but now Spanish lady was outstanding. We did not hesitate and chose the 14-course tasting menu, including wine pairing. Everything, from start to finish, was a feast for your taste buds. The menu and the wines are very well priced, and the level and the many dishes are well worth the price. We enjoyed it, and I can recommend it to everyone.

Just WOW! What a great lunch we enjoyed at this fabulous restaurant. Hard to describe the highlights with so many tasteful dishes. Every single dish is perfectly balanced, creative and well prepared.
The setting is beautiful and the service is very attentive. Nice wine pairings (of which also some nice local selections), and also the small "olive oil tasting" is a nice touch. Special mention to the mobile "cheese museum" of the maitre. What a beautiful selection of cheeses with a generous selection of local cheese. The blue cheese which was created in collaboration with the Toni Gerez is irresistible, one of the best cheeses I've ever tasted. Thanks for this great experience!
Only small suggestions for improvement would be to be mindful of the pace of the dishes. We typically eat on the faster side but even for our taste the pace was too fast. A dish was even served when 1 guest was on the toilet. Other than that, highly recommended and we will definitely visit you again next year!

Diner with family (6p) in the castle of Perelada. Nice scenery, helpful waiters. Tasteful local olive oils and wines from the own vineyard.
Absolute top is the cheese cart for desert , presented and guided by the manager. Correctly priced.

It is really worth the luxury of visiting and enjoying the gastronomy of this establishment. From the moment you enter, you feel that you are in a restaurant whose goal is customer satisfaction. It’s my second time in the restaurant and I couldn’t be happier, this was definitely the highlight of my trip to Spain! Amazing service, incredible food and company. Loved the cheeses provided by Toni gerez, such an amazing experience. They even had their menu converted into vegetarian/Vegan so we all could enjoy it too! This restaurant gets better by the year, it’s astonishing. Will definitely come back as soon as we travel to Spain next year!

Went here on a Friday night with my wife (make sure to book in advance). Not easy to find where to park your car, so we had to park quite far away in a public parking and walk to the castle where the restaurant is located in a beautiful setting.
Service is good and attentive although we at times strugged what they were trying to say in English.
Generous servings of excellent (and free) cava from Perelada with the first courses were much appreciated.
The tasting menu consisted of 17 courses including an enormous and impressive cheese tray where you could select from a wide selection of excellent local cheeses.
The rest of the menu was beautifully plated and a feast to the eye, but I felt they could have put more focus on flavour and textures.
Still a very nice evening.

Michelin starred dining in a castle is a rare experience and I was fortunate enough to visit as part of a hosted wine tourism visit to Emporda.
The ground floor of the castle is a casino (apparently unique) and you climb the stairs to the first floor restaurant which is a most delightful and luxurious setting.
The dinner menu is a 14 course tasting menu and allowances are made for any dietary issues.
The food is high class throughout, each course beautifully presented and with nice flavours and textures.
It starts with a tasting of bread with four different locally sourced olive oils and goes from strength to strength.
Each course is carefully prepared and described but the highlight is the Artisan and Fermier Cheese cart - probably the largest selection of cheese I have ever encountered (I made it 65 in all). This is the passion of General Manager Toni Gerez (formerly of El Bulli) who explained they normally have around 300 cheeses in stock!
Accompanied by seven wines from the Peralada company range the meal was the undoubted highlight of our trip and when I am next in the area I would make a point of returning. Quite magnificent.

We had an unforgettable time. The welcome was perfect, the service impeccable and the dishes delighted our taste buds. The staff took great care of us from the beginning to the end of the meal. We had a table with a view of the magnificent park decorated with majestic trees. This is the first time I’ve seen such a well-stocked cheese platter. We enjoyed ourselves and the waiter even offered to refill us. When booking, my daughter specified that it was for my birthday without asking. Surprisingly, a small cake with a candle was brought to me after the desserts. We have therefore noted that the staff is not only very friendly but also attentive to its customers. I have been coming on vacation every summer for 40 years to Llança not far from Peralada and this is the first time that I have been so delighted by a Spanish restaurant. I recommend this magnificent place where you can eat with your eyes closed.

Failing to have won at the casino, our visit to Peralada, coming from the Vermilion Coast, will remain a good memory thanks to the adjoining restaurant.
The inventive qualities of the chef make the tasting menu a surprising taste pleasure for the majority of the numerous dishes. We have rarely had a lunch composed of delicious discoveries.
A little more culinary research and a second Michelin star would be possible, in our opinion.

Just a magical experience. A beautiful setting within a castle with a table set at the base of one of the towers. Enjoyed the tasting menu starting with an assortment of olive oils and finished a quick four hours later with brandy and cigars at the terrace. Spotless service. Exceptional setting for an outside dinner in summer, despite the heat. Good reception and overall service. Good explanations of the tasting menu and each dish. Maitre and waiters very well. Very good service from the sommelier and a letter with interesting things at not exorbitant prices, which is very grateful. Very nice place well above anything else in the region. Impeccable service, innovative and delicious dishes. The mixture between a fish silt, caviar and three categories of lemon is definitely worth discovering. A well-deserved Michelin star.
