Our restaurant is located on the bank of river Krka in a green, peaceful and beautiful enviroment with a roofed terrace where more than 100 guests can be seated. We too have inner seating where we serve food, drinks and deserts. We can also provide place for larger groups of people, weddings, celebrations, concerts etc. In a multipurpose hall which has sound and light system both installed and ready to use. Our pleasant waitstaff is ready to welcome you and enjoy your time with us!

We came here for lunch and left sated and happy. Appetizer was delicious beef carpaccio with horseradish and hefty portion of delicious garlic soup. Main was ribs with potatoes and chicken with hazelnuts and štrukli - both were excellent. We drank the house wine which is pretty good. There is an extensive wine list though, with wines ranging from 20 to 60 euros approx. Dessert was Rafaelo cake which was also splendid. Alltogether it was around 40€ for 2 people, one of which can eat a lot. The service was very kind and fast and unobtrusive. The interior is very well maintained and maybe needs some touch ups (paintings don't really go with the vibe of the place) but it is easily overlooked since the food is really tasty. Looking forward to coming back.

I decided to write a review of this restaurant as I was shocked by the unflattering opinions which were just the contrary of mine.
First of all, I would like to emphasize that I have been to this restaurant several times and to another restaurant managed by the same chef. Both of them are quite exquisite when being compared to the competition. Other restaurant was a level beyond, nevertheless gostišče Loka would still remain your best choice for dinning in Novo mesto. They have a pastry shop with a wide variety of delicious desserts if you are searching for a calm place to discuss with your friends or take your girlfriend on a date. Moreover, they serve numerous tasty dishes like salads, meat, pasta, rissoto, burgers and terrific pizzas, which are luckily homemade and not prepared.
On one hand, gostišče Loka Kuhla is a nice place to eat due to professional cuisine and its location; on the other hand, you have to internalize the fact that by visiting this restaurant, you havent’t entered a fancy dining establishment (although it has potential) as they value financial accessibility above luxury. By the same token you should not expect too much from the waiters as they might act lazily or may be unwilling to select a table for you or even bring the menues. I advise you to sit down by the nearest unoccupied table and take the menues yourself.
Finally, I recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a nice ambience and plenty of reasonably priced options for good food .

We came across this location unexpectedly and it appealed to us because of the atmospheric location on the water. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful in finding a suitable place and choosing a menu. The six of us had a great meal! Highly recommended!

Upon arrival, the waiter who served us was very unfriendly, arrogant. He didn't even wipe the table, he threw a lunch menu on it and asked what we were going to drink, when we asked about the ala cart menu he wasnt very happy and threw it on the table. We got food after 45 minutes of waiting, we ordered pizza and fried cheese. We asked for the bill twice. We waited for him for 10 minutes. We were a group of four, trying to get a lunch. A friend recommended this place.
When we arrived, all the tables in the shadow were taken, some were put together (because there were few groups), there were empty used plates in the restaurant indoor.
When we arrived, we waited outside, but no one stopped, asked or even said hello.
Then we stopped a waiter and ask if possible to sit in the restaurant indoor and he advised they dont serve indoor.
Then we asked a lady if we can move a table outside in the free spot into the shadow (the table there was moved) and she agreed. Once starting to move a guy came oit and started shouting that we are not allowed to move tables and that if we want we can seat in the sun or else.
We choose… or else.
Maybe they have good food, maybe the ambient is what it is… but they are rude, and we will not come ever again. If you want a great service would suggest to go somewhere else.

Despite very nice location by the river, our visit was terrible choice, waiters were good but food is awful in summary. Beef tortilla was worst dish i have ever tried (wife ordered), couldnt chew beef at all. Pork ribs were sub avarage. Only good thing were potatos. Not recommended

Food was OK, if a little cold. Waiter seemed clueless. No idea if the schnitzel was pork, turkey or chicken. Also unhappy about swapping the set menu deserts for ice cream for the kids after we waited a REALLY long time for the food.

Nice, spacious terrace on the river. Lots of locals, so that's a good sign. We had lunch here. Relaxed atmosphere, despite the crowds. Simple dishes, but nicely prepared. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the waitresses were so busy that they couldn't keep up.

A walk along the shore brought us to this catering establishment. Nice place on the water. Delicious pastries, lots of choice! The staff was very friendly. Only downside were the smoking fellow guests on the terrace.
