In the heart of Isernia, Existo Osteria Molisana is an extremely pleasant surprise! In addition to the beautifully decorated premises, which very tastefully combine medieval architecture with a modern style, the food is absolutely exquisite! Most ingredients are sourced locally, and the way in which...they are combined is just sublime. Besides, staff is polite, nice and very accomodating; and prices are very convenient! Don't miss this place, you won't regret it!More

We ate at Existo towards the end of 5 week trip in Italy and it was the best dining experience of the whole trip. Isernia is definitely off the tourist track but the area really deserves to be seen. Existo is in the centro storico...of Isernia. The ambiance is warm, a combination of modern fixtures within an historic structure. I guess I would best describe the cuisine as modern twists on traditional dishes. For an antipasto, we had an egg cooked at low temperature with a sauce of sausage, truffle and creamed potatoes. It was an extraordinary dish the way the soft cooked egg yolks created a sauce that melded with all of the other flavors. For a first course, I had the chitarra pasta with porcinis, guanciale and caciocavallo which was another perfectly constructed dish. Then for a second course, we shared braised a braised rabbit thigh with truffles which again was exceptional. The only problem with the restaurant was that the following day they were hosting a private reception and the day after was their usual day of closure so we weren't able to eat there again. Also, the service was very attentive and pleasant.More

one of the most special restaurants we ever visited. the decoration, the warm welcome, the nice piazza were we sat outside, the good music to begin with. then the food..so good and so very special, little inventions that made us smile and feel delighted. we...tasted local specialties and did not get to the fresh fish part... we will certainly return, given the high value this restaurant offersMore

I am travelling alone around Italy, and got to find this amazing restaurant in Isernia. I ordered some food to take away. The lady was absolutely gentle and gave me some bread, a glass of molisian wine, some salsiccia and gave me cutlery so I...could eat at my hotel. Wonderful soul. And the food is also amazing! I highly recommend the polenta with egg, and the tagliata di manzo.More

Located in the historic centre, this elegant restaurant offers an excellent menu with locally sourced and produced ingredients. A sommelier on staff to advise with their great wine selection. There were 4 of us for dinner and we were not disappointed. We dined al fresco...in their courtyard, lit up with overscale floor lamps, very romantic, reminded us of places in New Orleans. Worth a visit.More
