We booked here for the first time and what a find! Quirky decor , felt like being in a tree house. Perfect for Sunday lunch . Being vegetarian , I always book with trepidation . However the food was absolutely delicious and well presented ....The service was also excellent . Our teenage children also really enjoyed it.More

I know I've reviewed and raved about this place before, but, I'm allowed to do it again so I will. Food cooked to perfection as ever, service smiling , attentive and friendly as ever. The wine is great and our pregnant daughter could have a non-alcoholic...glass of fizz too so she didn't suffer from wine envy (she just had to drive). We love the patio and its ambience. They've moved some tables around for social distancing, so its all safe. Book ahead, you owe it to yourselfMore

I love this restaurant, and have visited many times. You have to try the lamb curry, best I have ever had. Owners and staff are top class. Can't wait to go back.

Our second time here, and we were not disappointed! We sat outside, and out of the breeze in a sunny spot and the first thing we saw was a hummingbird. We had Devils on Horseback & melon and Serano ham to start, followed by roast...rib of boar as it was a Sunday and sheared an ice cream and fruit compote. The food was delicious, great wines and service impeccable. We drank our coffee replete, and basked in the January sunshine. Bliss Can't wait for next time.More

Where to begin? The cutest cosiest comfiest restaurant. Both owners and the wait staff make you feel like their best friends within minutes. Then there’s the food. Mike is just a genius. There were three of us and between us we had six different courses....How can everything be that good?. Genuinely just superb cooking. I am amazed that such a diverse selection was all fabulous. I am going back to Spain in January just to eat there. I can’t remember a better meal!More

We went to the Forge having searched on Trip Advisor. When I looked at the reviews the cynical part of me felt they were too good to be true. Having been I can tell you, they are true. It’s a fascinating setting, nestled on the...mountain hillside and accessed by a narrow track off the Casares road. The building is a former Finca and has all the Spanish charm and quirkiness you could hope for. We were welcomed ( and I mean welcomed) and lead though to the terrace at the back. I thought the interior was good but the ambiance on that terrace is superb. We realised fairly quickly the team genuinely seem to enjoy what they do and it’s infectious. You cannot help but feel better just sitting in the terrace but the real treat is the food, absolutely amazing. I had the Bacon and Mushroom Pil Pil followed by a house speciality, Lamb kleftico. Carole had the home made pate followed by Salmon. All of this was a real treat, my only challenge being unable to finish the Lamb ( full). This was all washed down by a very nice Ribero. The spirit was willing but the flesh was weak so we passed on deserts and were very nicely offered a couple of drinks whilst we waited for our taxi. It’s been said elsewhere the people are lovely, and I can testify to that. We were there for our wedding anniversary which traditionally we have celebrated at the Manor House in Castle Combe but have no regrets on the change. Very one of the team wished us a happy one and the owners/ founders took the time to pass on their best wishes as we left. I say again, believe the reviews. This is one of the most enjoyable dining experience you will get.More

We had a lovely dinner on the terrace - beautiful food and great service. It was lovely to have vegetarian options where some thought had been put into them. Husband and son thoroughly enjoyed their fillet steaks too. The interior part of the restaurant looked...lovely too. The only downside to the Forge is that it’s not open more nights - we would have loved to have gone a second time.More
