It's very good, but a few days before, also in Gioia del Colle, we had even more delicious food, served in a warmer and more friendly manner, with a total bill quite a bit less. That's not to put Trattoria Pugliese down. It was lovely...food, the decor was fresh and attractive, and the staff were friendly. We were two couples, and we chose to eat by sharing a number of small dishes. So we started with antipasto dishes, had one pasta dish, some mixed vegetables,, and a sausage dish - a mixture of local types. With 2 litres of local primitivo red wine as well, the bill totalled 70 euros, which is not outrageous at all, except in comparison to the one I mentioned above. It is in my top 5 restaurants so far in Italy, but towards the bottom of that list..More

This is by far one of the best places I have ever eaten at! The staff knows how to take care of guests and the chef is amazing! If you ever get a chance to visit go!!! So worth any drive and detour I promise!

This was our first lunch as part of our tour of Puglia. Katia, our guide selected this trattoria for us.We had a selection of vegetarian freshly made flavoursome antipasti from locally sourced ingredients. The pastas were equally fresh. It is a family run trattoria and...the service was excellent. An experience we will always treasure. Highly recommend.More

We were traveling thru this part of Puglia and wanted to find a good place for lunch. We aimed for Gioia and this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews. The stop was well worth it. We were headed for a family dinner in Basilicata and...decided to eat "lightly" with 2 servings of paccheri and a sharing of grilled vegetables with a half bottle of local wine chosen by the hostess. The hostess spoke English and very chatty and helpful.More

Since many years I wished to have a dinner in this Historic trattoria in Gioia del Colle but for some reasons I never had a chance to do it. At the end this moment arrived and I was so sorry that I waited so long.... This is a tiny nice place close to the Castello in the old part of the city. The welcome and the service is great as the atmosfere and the foods. The menu is very small but the choice it is very difficult because you want to try everything, there is a good selection of local specialities (burrata and mozzarella ) pasta (orecchiette e cime di rapa ) and a very good primitivo ( polvanera ) all served with a beautiful smile at a reasonable price ( 25 euro each ). I will return soon.More

Charming restaurant with great pasta and cheeses selections. The smoked burrata is a must. Their seasonal specialties were wonderful. The owner Vittoria is such a delight. We enjoyed it so much that we did a return visit.

Our party of 5 had a fantastic experience tasting 7 or 8 different antipasti. The smoked burrata with the fig sauce was excellent along with the eggplant parmigiana and a cabbage flan all made a return trip a must not to mention the stuffed zucchini...flowers. We also enjoyed two types of pasta with so unique flavor profiles and all this paired with some great local wines. Bravo!More

We were looking for a real Gioia del Colle mozzarella and burrata to let our international friends to taste it. What Ristorante Pugliese offered was perfect, a huge and exquisite sequence of apetizers, including fresh cow mozzarella, burrata, smoked burrata, truffle burrata, local salami and...pancetta, etc. We were looking for a light lunch and it ended up into a gorgeous lunch. The owner is a very good chef from Sicily and his wife speaks very good english which helps a lot when you're travelling with international guests. Very good! Bravi!More

This trattoria fully deserves its high ratings. The food is deliciously authentic - the mixed antipasto a delight. As was the mixed grill. We were recommended a Gioia del Colle primitivo wine which was also a joy. All unpretentious and served and presented with care...and attention.More
