We always choose here to meet up with friends the pub is very busy both with locals and visitors, friendly and has great a atmosphere. The food on offer is so much more than normal pub fayre and its presentation matches expectations of a good...More

A pleasing discovery on a last-minute whim. Food pretty good but it was the staff who took centre stage. Nothing was too much trouble and the pleasant young man who looked after us seemed genuinely delighted when we took his wine recommendation - and no,...More

Clearly a popular place and nicely decorated and furnished. It isn't cheap and whilst the food is good, for us doesn't justify the higher price for essentially pub food. I know many places serve food on wooden boards but eating the burger with the various...More

A most wonderful meal, quite a surprise as it was a Monday and we are dubious about the Chefs on Mondays, but this was amazing. It must be over 2 years since we last visited and the menu has changed a lot. The starters were...More

We've visited several times and whilst the pub can be very busy and noisy it's always worth a visit. There is a good range of well-kept local beers (sadly served through a sparkler) and a fine range of gins. On our last visit we were...More

The Angel is in the centre of a pretty village. We booked for a family Sunday luncheon, which is advisable as they get busy. A well thought out predominantly British / European menu means everyone was happy. Starters on our table included a game terrine,...More

I can't be certain but I've got a feeling they do. As the others have suggested best to ask them directly - nice staff.

Real fires, comfortable leather seats, traditional warm rooms, afternoon tea, great local food, local ales and exceptional Northumbrian charm. The Angel Inn has been a coaching inn dating back to 1752 when it was called The Kings Head. Many people have owned it until we purchased it in 2011 and we intend to keep it and we will ensure that your time with us is relaxing and fulfilling.
