I visited The Valley recently with my wife. We were in a bit of a rush to catch our train and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Even showing us a quicker route to the train platform to ensure we were on time. I have to say the food was out of this world and my main, king... More

We had been waiting to try this Indian restaurant for some time and were not disappointed in August when we enjoyed a meal here. Food was great, good value for money and the service was excellent. We were lucky and managed to book same day but, as this is a very popular restaurant, booking in advance is advisable to avoid... More

The Valley is probably best known for its association with the train - you order your food and have a starter or an aperitif on the train from Newcastle before arriving at the Restaurant ( which is next to Corbridge Railway Station). We arrived conventionally by car. Overall my impression was that the food was okay not great. No dissatisfaction... More

We were given this evening out as a gift. The evening started by being met at Newcastle central station to be taken by train to Corbridge. The two gentlemen who greeted us oozed courteous confidence and the evening immediately felt special as they were dressed in beautiful Indian attire. When on the train we ordered our meal so that it... More

Have been to this Indian Restaurant twice (July 2016) - both times we received excellent food and exceptional service. We had a very welcoming experience and felt as if we were 'special' ... but actually everyone had very great care and special attention from all the staff, including a distinguished and very congenial gentlemen in a suit who may have... A great value for money package which was a bit out of the ordinary. Attentive friendly service at the train station, on the train and in the cosy restaurant. Delicious authentic Indian food which was beautifully presented. A wide choice of dishes and generous portion sizes. A choice of return train times.

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend who is a curryholic. If he says it is good, it is. And it is fantastic. Great if slightly off piste location but so stylish. The food is impeccable. What a find!

Well, you meet under the clock and all is well. Indeed you board the train and all seems to be going well and then the fun slooowly disappears. Rather bored/surly chap hands you a (warm) beer and takes the orders. Regular menu, nothing new. On arrival bar is busy and service slow (I will come back to this). During meal... More

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to apologise for your experience with us. I would like to defend our establishment against any particular strategies you may think we have. I can not understand how this restaurant has got so many good reviews, it was an absolute disgrace from start to finish!! The train brings absolutely nothing to the experience, in fact it's just damn right annoying! We sat on the platform for half an hour to start with followed by a warm bottle of beer then an abrupt miserable... More

Dear Dan, We would like to apologise for your dissatisfaction with the service we provided. This certainly does not sound representative of a night with us, hence the other reviews. With regards to rice/nans/side dishes, our staff offer to replenish these so I am not sure why there was a shortage. Customers are usually left with too much food rather... More

Food average but very expensive as a family night out. Bill came to £275.00 for 11 people, (no starters, no dessert no coffee) and only 1 bottle of wine and soft drinks. Had to pay deposit of £5 pp at time of booking.
