We had the chance to enjoy dinner at this restaurant, located at the end of Trstenik promenade near the sea. We made a reservation in advance (I suggest doing this a day before). Upon entering, a team of waiters greeted us and showed us to our table. The menu is available in both Croatian and English. We were welcomed with a local liqueur as a welcome drink, which was a nice touch. After some time, we decided on the starter and main course, leaving dessert open in case we had room for it later.
For the starter, we chose the Tuna Trio (€28), and for the main course, we had the Grilled Pelagic Fish Fillet (€28 each) – tuna was the fish of the day.
We asked for a wine recommendation and chose a local wine from the Grgić winery (Pošip 2023), whose estate is located right above the sea on the hill. The wine was an excellent choice – fresh, fruity, and absolutely delicious. The waiter was a bit nervous and sweaty while opening and serving the wine, so we kindly reassured him to calm down. :)
Before the starter, we received a complimentary dish of anchovy fillets and spread with warm homemade bread. It was unexpected but delicious!
The starter was excellent – the raw tuna fillets were the highlight, and the smoked tuna provided a nice contrast in flavor. My wife, who usually doesn’t enjoy raw fish, loved the raw tuna and tartare. The additional sides like ginger, caviar, arugula, mayo, and soy sauce were terrific companions to the tuna’s flavor profile. Paired with the wine, it was perfect.
The main course, however, was average, mainly due to two things (thus 4/5 rating)
- The side dish was bland, lacking salt and flavor.
- The tuna was cooked through, though not dry I must admit
We didn’t have dessert because the main course portion was enormous (likely 250-300g of fillet).
We paid around €140 for the dinner, which we found reasonable. We tipped the waiter €10 for his service that night; he seemed pleasantly surprised by the amount.
Overall, we were happy with the dinner and will definitely return.

A local told us about this place- one of the most amazing and memorable meals we have ever had! The service was top notch and the food and local house wine rivaled any top rated restaurant we have been to. We got the wood fire grill seafood player for 2 - it was easily enough for all 4 of us! We also got house salads and the tuna appetizer. They served all of this with house recommended white wine and fresh bread made on site. This place is not to be missed!! đź‘Źđź‘Ź

We had a completely delicious Fresh foot lunch sitting sitting right by the sea. Our meal started with local liquors and then went on to get even more delicious. The grilled fish was delicious, wonderfully cooked fresh vegetables, and a beautiful salad. Wines were great. Our meal rounded up with an amazing Chocolate cake that was a moose on top and then chocolate cake underneath not to be missed well accompanied by a delicious red wine!

The most unwelcoming, unfriendly experience of our time in Trstenik. The service was so abrupt and indifferent it just made us feel uncomfortable being there.
We were told, not advised, what we would eat (soup and a fish platter). We didn't even get to choose from the menu and the language barrier meant we had no idea what was coming (totally appreciate we didn't speak Croatian either but a point at the menu and a grateful smile generally works).
The soup was watery, the fish platter was unremarkable and the spoonful of wet potatoes on the side fed 1 or 2 people (there were 5 of us). We didn't have desert but from the size of the bill it would seem we probably paid for it.
We asked for a red wine but apparently it was not available so we were upsold an ~80 euro bottle. Again the language barrier meant we got what the server wanted us to have rather than a recommendation or choice.
Did not enjoy. For a warm welcome and amazing food, go to D'Oro bar & grill instead.

Absolutely MUST EXPERIENCE! Location, fresh seasonal local food, house white Wine rukatac, waiter Tomo and chef Nada makes this place a privilege to see and be there.We ate their specialities all based on sea food and vegetables and I can not choose a winner plate; every meal was spectacular. The freehness of ingredients, the love with What they were Made…..we Are happy to live near by and have opportunity to present the best of Pelješac to our dear ones who live on the other parts of our beautiful country. And prices……..What you will Experience worth every euro you spend there. Dont think twice about choosing this restaurant and just go and amaize yourselves! Bon apetit!!

We visited Vitaceae in Trstenik last week and I am able to speak very highly of the food and service we received. We ate the sea bass which was freshly caught that day and we got to pick which one we ate. This was the best fish any of us had ever eaten. All the staff were amazing and very friendly, they even showed us the kitchen and round the back where the fish is cooked! The waiters wife was one of the chefs and brought us panacota for dessert free of charge which was also amazing!
My dad dropped a pair of glasses in the sea when getting in the dingy going to the restaurant and the main chef even came out the next morning to dive for them and found them!! Amazing AMAZING evening and would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, if I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thanks again

What a wonderful restaurant. The owner has two private mooring buoys and in return for using one, you eat at the restaurant. The views over the quant harbour are lovely. The quality of the food and the extremely friendly welcome from all the staff was delightful. There is an extremely varied menu, even Spaghetti bolognese for those children less excited about the wonderful fish selection. I had the sea bass - just fantastic. It was also very well priced, incredible value. If ever you are in Trstenik, make sure this restaurant is top of your list.

We don't recommend this restaurant. We stay in Trstenik for few days and based on recommendations from our friends we wanted to eat here for few days. We didn't had a change to try the food. When we try to sit on the free table, waiter put "reservation" card. We agreed on reservation within one hour, unfortunatelly when we came there were no reservation on our name. Waiter even didn't say "sorry" and was arrogant.

Delighted by the waiters to whom you don't have to explain anything, they understand what you like in record speed and make sure that everything is perfect for you. The food is excellent, it really is! The portions are plentiful, the prices reasonable, the spaces between the tables sufficient. Perfect. We will be back again!!

A really lovely evening. Ordered the salt crusted sea bass which was an absolute delight, starters we had mussels which were the best on our trip so far. Our waiter made it an outstanding evening, unfortunately we never got his name but he said he’d been working there for ten years. Nothing short of a complete professional and absolutely charming, a credit to the restaurant.

Our group of six were treated like VIP's! Vitaceae has the most stunning views in the small town of Trstenik. The owner came out with a platter of fresh fish whereby we chose the fish to be cooked. While the fish was being cooked we were treated to go to the back of the restaurant where the 'fire' was cooking the fish. No gas/charcoal BBQ but the open fire pit! The owner (I'm sorry I can't spell your name!) then brought the cooked fish out to filet it in front of us. We were treated to home-made liqueurs (definitely recommend trying) and a delightful dessert made by his wife.
Definitely a worthwhile stop while visiting the local wineries.

Excellent dinner experience. Perfect harmony of fresh seafood tastes. We had a fish starter plate for two and main fish plate for two (which has various seafood on it). While waiting for starter plate we first got some grappa and then appetizer plate. Food was delicious and there was enough of it to make all three of us (two adults & a child) completely full, so when they asked us for deserts we said “no thanks“, but they nonetheless brought us Panaccota, free on the house, and we had no problem make that disappear as well. Ambient was nice, we sat on a balcony with overview on the small village harbor. Waiter was kind and provided us interesting info on how they get their good and explained both plates on details. Price was OK and we left with a nice tip. We will visit them again before ending our vacation. Very recommended.

I highly recommend this place. The service & food was AMAZING! The prices are extremely affordable if you think about the great service you get. Petar was our waiter, who is great, but I have seen others too and they all truly care about their guests. Attaching a few pictures of food. Tuna (3 ways) as a starter, mixed meat platter & homemade Korcula pasta with prsut & truffles sauce.
Truly unforgettable experience. Tuna pate, watermelon, coffee & liquor were on the house & so well presented.

You must experience Vitaceae. It serves the freshest daily catch. It is off-the -hook… it cannot be beat. If you think you’ve had fresh, Visit and re-calibrate. They keep their lobster in a trap a short swim or boat trip in the bay. The owner/cook is proud of his grill (and he should be). Any BBQ geek will go nuts over it.

Place with a great sea view and such friendly staff. Visited few times - always fresh fishes from daily catch, perfectly grilled and served. Delicious starters and wine. Definitely worth recommending and coming back! Thank you!
