We both had the fish taster menu and it was fab. The Turbot was a tad over cooked but other than that everything was great. The service is excellent.

Popped in on the off chance they had a table available on a Saturday lunchtime. Tried the taster menu which was a great for a lunchtime - small bites of different fish dishes. Particularly liked the fresh mackerel and the pollock. Would recommend for lunch.

Very good food, well presented, fresh and innovative. Cater for gluten free without a problem. Check opening hours during winter, and definitely book ahead as usually full. Friendly staff.

We returned to Steamers a couple of years after our first experience when we enjoyed well prepared, quality ingredients. This time around however, what a disappointment! Our starter of smoked haddock risotto was presented as a 'timbale' in the centre of the plate, consisting of warm sticky rice, lacking depth of flavour. It was certainly not the lovey creamy version... More

Steamers Restaurant at Beer in Devon was the destination for my surprise early Valentines dinner. We visit as often as we can and Andy and the team looked after us very well. Oh...you want to know about the food? Delicious perfectly cooked Scallops for my starter, my husband went for the fish taster menu with three fish starters on one... More

We eat here quite regularly and it is far and away the best restaurant in a large local area. There is a varied menu with a good choice of dishes. The food is always beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are all lovely, helpful and considerate and do a great job, nothing is too much trouble. We have never been... More

Some friends visiting from London were going to hix's in Lyme until I suggested that we should go to steamers as i'd heard the food & service wasn't great at hix's. After reading the reviews they agreed to go to steamers & I'm so happy we did. A few of our party were running late & as much as I... More

Despite things being very quiet, given the time of year, we were given a very warm welcome. The service was attentive and efficient. We were particularly pleased with the fish taster menu. The fish was cooked to perfection and was quite ample. If were to return to the area we would not hesitate to book a table.

2 Thank Tom C
