What a surprise, we fancied a Saturday night curry, and to be honest in a small village like Beer we didn't have high expectations, but how wrong we were, the food and staff were brilliant, we will return

The food is decent and the service OK. A number of the staff have been airlifted back to Bangladesh for being illegals but then they can get some the food and decor is surprisingly goo.

Visited last Tuesday with daughter and grandchildren. Our drinks order was taken as soon as we arrived. Following the arrival of drinks we were ignored to the point of rudeness. The restaurant was not busy. After our orders were taken the length of time the food took to arrive seemed interminable. We came very close to leaving. The food itself... More

After a long days walking along the SW Coastal Path, we decided on a lazy night in, so ordered a takeaway from the Spice Merchant, which was just around the corner from our apartment. As with most indian restaurants the choice was extensive and good value. The food was very enjoyable, plenty of it, hot and tasty. Popadums and chutney... More

Have just been reading very mixed reviews about this restaurant. Sadly cannot comment on the quality of the food. Can however comment on the service - non existent! We called in for a meal, not very busy, only a couple of tables occupied, seated immediately at a table for 2, then waited and waited! After 20 minutes of being totally... More

We had a meal here on a Friday night whilst staying in Beer for the weekend. We were not expecting the meal to be as good as it was! From the outside, the restaurant looks a bit tired and worn, so we were really surprised when our meal arrived - it was all absolutely delicious, and the waiters were really... More

Stayed in Beer for a week for my birthday. Went to this indian twice and both meals where very good quality and reasonably priced, staff very nice too, especially as it us the only indian in the town. I have found to my distaste that often a lone indian in a small town can let quality slip. Keep up.the good... More

After a walk to Branscombe and back we collapsed on the sofa and ordered a takeaway curry. Good speed of service and a totally acceptable curry but don't expect to have your socks blown off (unless you order a Vindaloo...). Tasty and comforting.

Great meal, service excellent although had to buy large bottle of sparkling water as they didn't sell small bottles, which for one person is just too much.
