We had a lovely meal on Friday night. The food was great and the staff were all very friendly. It was clear this is a well loved local restaurant with all the regulars being greated by name. We had poppadoms to start with, starters and tried a few of the chef's specials. Definitely worth a visit :)

We have been returning time and time again to the Spice Merchant over many years but our last couple of visits have been disappointing. The food is still good but the service is poor. Our waiter (who we believe was the manager) was rude and unfriendly - when asking us what drinks we'd like, and after a long delay in... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Spice Merchant, the food was delicious & well presented. We shared a starter of onion bahji, just as well as this was more than sufficient for two people! We both had buryannis, good portions, fresh, delicious and not too spicy. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. Would definitely eat there again!

Once again, we visited The Spice Merchant whilst staying in Beer. The food was good, although not up to the excellent standard we experienced when we first visited this restaurant a few years back. Still, whenever in Beer, we will always eat here, as it is very good nonetheless. Pleasant staff and comfortably spaced tables, although they could do with... More

Ate here one evening (everywhere else was fully booked) during half term. The menu choice was good but the overall bill was expensive £80 for a family of 4 (and my son just had chicken tikka). The food was OK, but not the best curry I've had.

Always have a lovely curry here. Not to oily, fresh and hot in temperature. We opted for poppadoms and dips, followed by a mushroom and potato on purée and a kebab. For mains we shared a rice, had a naan each and both had the patia (one lamb and one chicken). All excellent, and we didn't wait very long either.... More

Very nice meal had by all & very reasonable especially with 20% off food when you order before 18.30. Waiters very attentive will definitely return when in the area again.
