We only went there once. Dirty tables, arrogant staff, rubbish food and overpriced. The only thing of any note is the beer garden with fantastic views. This could be a great place but mired in brewery chain mediocrity.

The Anchor Inn is a lovely hotel in a superb seafront location with good food and accommodation; of special note were the very friendly and attentive staff; a absolute credit to Old English Inns and somewhere to be recommended.

Dropped into Beer for a quick look round, found the village delightful and visited this pub down by the beach. They staff were very hospitable and food was great. Good quality and good value. Clean and tidy. Has wifi. Allows dogs into bar area which was nice as we had one of ours with us. But not into restaurant.

Called in here for a Sunday Roast and offered a choice of three meats so we chose Pork which was very good with a nice assortment of fresh vegetables. They also have a very wide variety of dishes on their main menu as well as a comprehensive specials board. The Staff were friendly and no long wait for your food... More

My hubby and I came here for dinner on a busy Friday night. We were shown to our table quickly by a very pleasant young man. Our food order was taken and whilst we waited were offered drinks. The food arrived quite quickly and the pate with cherry compote was absolutely beautiful. Hubby had the mixed grill which even he... More

My wife and I called in for lunch on a day out in this beautiful village. The weather was warm( 31st October, felt like June) . Otter bitter and Aspalls cider a great start followed by sea bass, scallops with prawn risotto and the ultimate fish and chips (plaice, prawns, scallops and scampi). excellent service. Will definitely be back.

Stayed the night at the Anchor Inn. As soon as I walked in I wished I had booked to stay for a week. Lovely comfortable room, huge bathroom and a beautiful view. My friends and I ate dinner in the restaurant and everything was delicious. I had fish, which was fresh and tasty. Breakfast was the normal Greene King Inn... More

This established and busy Inn is perfectly placed for a view of the coastline, fishing boats and the cliffs around Beer. Very popular, child and dog friendly, with lots of space inside for large or small groups. We were disappointed by the choice of beer, but what was on offer, was well kept. Our initial wine selection was not available... More

WOW! Must admit this was one of my favourite holiday dinners. We popped in to Beer to visit the lovely village. Checked reviews on best places to eat and The Anchor Inn was one of them. This didn't disappoint, plenty of food, cooked well and tasted great. We had two mixed sharing platters to start these were yummy! Main courses... More

Stopped here for drinks - as lunch was very busy and said it was an hour's wait . But lovely staff who were very helpful with the children and we sat in the garden overlooking the Beer and the sea perfect .
