The "ticos" love to eat at small local buffets called sodas. Don't travel all the way to Costa Rica and not sample the local food. If you are anywhere near Herradura or Jaco', you MUST stop on the main highway (34) and eat at Soda Marea Baja. It should be easy to spot. It will be full of people enjoying... More

We went with a local who helped us choose food on the buffet. Everything was delicious ... beans and rice, shrimp with rice, chorizo, vegetable lasagna, potatoes, ceviche, beef, fried or grilled chicken, plus much more. All of us were happy with the food and will return. Mi gusta mucho!

We ate here almost every day my boyfriend could not get enough of this place. Their menu changes slightly everyday and they serve pork, chicken, beef and fish. The food is traditional Rico food and everything is kept very clean. Their menu also includes all you can drinks juices and sometimes tea and a salad bar is all you can... More

Every time I go they charge me the "Gringo Price". I just paid 2,900 for the worst gallo pinto, floppy nasty bacon, and over-cooked disgusting egg. Yeaaaaaaah bhaaaaaaaaady. This place used to be the go to, now that just suck.

Our local driver took us to eat at this place as we were starving when we landed and just wanted something cheap and quick. We were very pleasantly surprised with the food quality! For $10/person, we got to choose an entire plate of food (meats, veg, carb), plus salad bar, a drink, and a bowl of ceviche! The gallo pinto... More

Convenient location right off the highway. Food is always fresh due to the volume of people who eat there and the need to constantly prepare new food. Inexpensive ($5-$6 and you'll be full), fast service (although during peak hours there can be a lineup), live music frequently. Bustling yet somehow at the same time relaxed atmosphere. Go for the all-you-can-eat... More

Loved this place. A must go to in the Jaco area. You'll spend a lot more on the beach. If you're looking for great local food at local prices, this is your place. It's a cafeteria style so just point to what you want - lots of variety. Two plates full of deliciousness and two unlimited refill naturals for under... More

I take my mission team each year and it is a favorite. It is very convenient and being open 24 hours is helpful with our ever changing schedule! The menu varies which is great also!
